Mi novio y yo vinimos aquí el domingo para una cita temprana del día de San Valentín. Nuestro servidor, cuyo nombre, tristemente, no lo recuerdo, fue increíble! My boyfriend and I came here on Sunday for an early Valentine's Day date. Our server, whose name, sadly, I don't remember, was amazing! She was petite and had really pretty blonde hair. She was so informative and funny and had excellent timing with checking in on us. We made a note in our reservation that we were celebrating Valentine's Day early and she brought us each a flute of complimentary champagne. Which was such a sweet gesture! Living in San Francisco I have a wide variety of top-notch restaurants available to me. Whenever I come back to Des Moines to visit my family, I always take a new group of people to Harbinger so that they can experience the level and quality of food that is available in top-notch restaurants around the world. Chef/Owner Joe can hold his own with just about any restaurant in any major city. The attention to detail is impeccable, the vegetables divine, and the presentation amazing.

Harbinger is what I would call a boutique restaurant featuring fresh, local, seasonal ingredients prepared with great attention, care, and artistry. Portions are small. Flavors are incredible and layered. Dishes have a bit of an Asian fusion twist to them. Staff are extremely professional and well trained. Ambiance is excellent. I love this place. It's been a few months since we last ate at Harbinger, but my goodness Joe and his team conti he to excel in everything good that is food. If I were to have only one dish, one plate if food then the poached duck egg would be the one that I would have over and over and over again and again and again. Thank you for another fantastic dining experience!

Incredible food, fantastic presentation, small plates, great staff, friendly bartender, multi-course meals! It was restaurant week and we didn't have a reservation, so we sat at the bar and had an entirely delightful dinner!

We are adventurous eaters and no strangers to a small plate....but....these are tiny plates. Out of the 7 dishes we ordered only one was truly delicious. The rest were good, but not enough that we would come back. Reserva una mesa ahora

A wonderful place to eat. Courses are presented in an artistic way, flavors are highly complementary, with nice variety of selections.
