We’ve been coming here since they opened and by now have probably sampled most of the menu. When I ate meat I loved the chicken shish, one of the best I’ve ever had- and the salad that goes alongside it, and their other kebabs, always tastes fresh and delicious. Since becoming vegetarian I can say that their halloumi kebab does not hit the same heights. The halloumi always tastes cold and rubbery, which is confusing because as a cheese it’s usually noted for being quite salty and charred, this one is just bland. One good thing about the halloumi kebab being so average though is that it led me to discover the pizzas here. It’s not something I’d expect a kebab house to excel at, but the pizzas...
I attempted to place an order at this restaurant, but they had already run out of ingredients over an hour before closing time, which is not a good sign. I tried ordering online the following night, but the restaurant was closed. After waiting 1 hour and 30 minutes for my order, I called multiple times with no answer. Finally, I placed an order for the third time, but the dish was very basic and missing key ingredients like cucumber, tomato, and lemon. I could have easily made the same dish at home for a fraction of the cost and in less time. When I lived in Bhill, this restaurant used to be my go-to place, but it is no longer special.
Such a hit and miss kebab. It can be quite good but sometimes inedible. At the weekend I had a chicken Shish, the chicken was slightly on the dry side but my other half’s lamb wrap was dire. I’m not one to complain but she was picking out gristle after gristle , half of the wrap was more or less gristle it was unbelievable, similar to chewing gum. At a rate of £6.50 you felt utterly done over , big time. Iv only ever gone here out of local convenience but I’d think about travelling to burgess hill for a kebab takeout now.
Hassocks kebabs are always a hit! The restaurant was closed for a while due to a holiday, so it's great to see them back in business. We tried the mixed lamb and chicken shish kebabs and they were delicious. The meat and pita were served separately from the salad and sauces, preventing the bread from getting soggy. The food arrived slightly late which isn’t too much of a problem but it arrived cold. I took a couple of bites out of my burger to find a small metal bolt in the burger meat. Called Hassocks Kebab to report this and the most they offered was free food after I told them I would never order from them again.
The staff here are fantastic, always very friendly and polite. The food is Amazing, every item we have tried over the years has been excellent, especially the Fried Chicken Wrap! We definitely recommend this takeaway. Prices are reasonable, quality is great. Keep up the good work guys, see you soon
