We were visiting Zurich for the new years weekend from London and were excited to dine here on a Friday (at 5:45pm, without reservation). We were offered a table for two in the middle of the restaurant on the second floor. We requested if the table could be moved near the windows; but were told unfortunately that they had reservations for the duration of our dinner. We noted that there quite a few tables near the windows still open throughout our dinner and until we left (around 7pm). We ordered a mushroom stroganoff and a potato rosti with grilled vegetables. The world's first vegetarian restaurant really deserves its reputation. The overall atmosphere is great and the service attitude is excellent. It's completely worthy of its price. There are many vegetarian options here, you can eat a variety of different vegetarian dishes, and the burgers are also recommended. Finally, the desserts are also highly recommended. My family and I visit regularly. We really appreciate the varied and good food. Unfortunately, we are noticing a deterioration. The service has been worse and worse the last two times. The estimated free water has also no longer been available since 2024. The buffet price also increased à la discretion. Just one of the points mentioned wouldn't be a problem, but the total will make a difference for the future. I hope things get better again, because we really appreciate the Hiltl.

Der Empfang war freundlich und die Reservation hat geklappt. Wir haben das Buffet à discretion gewählt und wurden ein mal Mehr nicht enttäuscht. Die Auswahl war sehr gross und auch die Qualität war ausgezeichnet. Auch dieses Mal konnten wir nicht alles probieren, da die Auswahl einfach riesig ist. Auch die Fruchtsäfte sind ausgezeichnet. Nachdem ich schon viel gutes Feedback gehört habe, wollte ich dieses Restaurant einmal besuchen. Das Ambiente mit den schick designten Sofas ist sehr gelungen. Die Bedienung war gut und das Essen ein Genuss. Was Rolf Hiltl geschaffen hat, ist Weltklasse!

We came to Hiltl with friends visiting from another city. The food was really fine, but the waiter attitude was awful… we were served by Tania and I can say that she nearly ruined our evening. Very unpleasant and cocky.

Food was great. Basil pesto dish was delicious. If I had more time in Zurich I would’ve definitely gone back and tried the buffet. Love that they have so many veggie options.
