Location: Havana Grill on Clairmont MessBeen a long time since I 've had Cuban food. It 's a pretty cool place decor is cute, cozy, and the servers are all cheerful nice. We waited a long time for the food which I didn 't mind too much at least, it means it was freshly prepared! But overall, could only give this place 3 stars. Maybe the sandwiches are better, but since it was dinner time, my wife and I chose two entrees or what are called plates on the menu.Vaca Frita this was definitely the better of the two dishes and quite enjoyed this. First time here and what a disappointment after reading good reviews. Ordered take out. Hot Cuban, Cuban American, Empanada and Sweet Plantains. 45 minutes to get the order ready. Yes, it was lunch time and we drove there to pick up. The only decent part of the meal was the Hot Cuban. Tasty, great bread and enjoyable. The Cuban American was terrible. The flank steak was like leather. Unchewable. Should call it Zapatos Viejos or old shoes. This sandwich was atrocious. After a bite with pieces of meat getting stuck in my teeth, it went straight into the trash. The empanada and sweet plantains were no better. They were so greasy that there was oil dripping all over. AMAZING!! Wow! The service, food, cocktails and ambiance are top notch! We had full service at the bar and really enjoyed chatting with our mixologist Catalina and really enjoyed the refreshing cocktails she made! I highly recommend the Cubano, the beef, lechon and been empanadas. SO delicious and full of flavor. Prices are also very reasonable which we loved too! Can’t wait to come back.
