This was my first time dining at Hawaiian Drive Inn, even though there's a similar restaurant near my home. However, I'd gladly drive an extra 15-20 minutes to eat here because they offer a wider variety of menu options. For instance, they have poke, spam musubi, and Portuguese sausage, among others! We ordered the chicken plate, short rib plate, and poke. Both the chicken and short ribs were grilled to perfection, and the poke was fresh. I prefer my poke spicy, so I added Sriracha, mayo, and Frank's RedHot sauce when I got home. We’ll definitely be back to try the Portuguese sausage! It was delicious!
I would love to see huli huli chicken, chicken long rice, and lomi lomi salmon added to the menu as well. I also enjoyed a smoothie made with guava, mango, and lilikoʻi (passionfruit), which perfectly captured the taste of island fruits. It was so refreshing and made a great first impression while I waited for my food.
The portion sizes are definitely worth the price, and it’s truly nice to get value for your money. A big mahalo to the staff and management at Hawaiian Drive Inn! Next time I’m in the area, I hope to see haupia and malasadas on the menu. Mahalo plenty!
We got a seafood and bbq chicken combo to share among two people. It was a filling and satisfying dinner for both of us, however, the seafood pieces seemed to have more breading than meat on them. Just beware that the interior of the restaurant is less put together than a neglected fast food restaurant, and the place seems to be more intended for to go orders. 5 stars for the quantity and satisfying nature of the food.
It was Ready but the food was cold. The customer service is poor and I think that there could've been better ways to go about things if I would've known it was like that I went to lee sandwiches.

Consistent servings! I have lived in Hawaii for 5 years before and this place doesn't disappoint. I highly recommend getting the chicken katsu, the portions are huge!
Phenomenal Laulau and kalua pork! Personally I think they taste better than Oahu Grill in Honolulu. So glad we found this wonderful gem
The place wasn't great for sitting down or hanging out with friends. The service was slow, but the server was very nice and friendly.
This place is so good. The serving sizes are big and the food is awesome. Anytime I want Hawaiian this is our place!

Mid Hawaiian food. Pretty expensive for the low quality of meat. $4 for one spam musubi deserves jail time.
Great! Everything was tasty and the Katsu is the best in the bay!
