I have to admit that it's been a while since my last visit, but I'm pleased to say that owners Laurie and Gary are definitely committed to ensuring their customers have a great experience. And Jeff is just a genuinely good person—great people can really make a place shine. I was also thoroughly impressed by the ribs coming out of the kitchen. I'm a big fan of good barbecue, and Hawgsville serves up authentic ribs, not the boiled pork drenched in bottled sauce. These were proper St. Louis cut, dry-rubbed, and absolutely spectacular. I'm really glad we decided to come back. I'm officially a big fan now!
You have to give this place a shot; you won't be disappointed. I had the best Philly cheesesteak I've ever tasted, and the pulled pork was fantastic too! The fries and fried mushrooms were also really good. This hidden gem in downtown Watervliet makes everything fresh in-house, and we've definitely found a new favorite spot.
I'm definitely planning a return visit. I rarely give out 5-star ratings, but if I could, I’d give this place a solid 10! I'm excited to come back and try the pizza, nachos, and I can't wait for the chicken pot pie special.
It seems that the restaurant is closed. The sign on the door indicates that it will be closed until spring 2019, which might be a mistake. There is also a real estate sign on the building, suggesting it could be permanently closed. I was eager to try it out. I had to select a star rating to post my review, so I randomly chose three stars. My recommendation is to call before you visit.
Go to this place. Don't let the biker reference of the name fool you in to believing this is a biker bar. Bikers come here, but all are welcome. The smiling, happy faces of the bar/wait staff are enough to warrant a try in this joint. Go for the service, stay for the food. And ask for the home made hot sauce but beware, it's a bruiser hot sauce!

Absolutely the best food ever! If you're in the north and feel like heading south, make your way to Watervliet, MI. This place always has new and amazing home-cooked dishes! More and more people are discovering what a hidden gem it is, so sometimes the food runs out. But the southern cooking here is truly unrivaled!
This place is great. Here with my bf and his family. The food is super good, recommend the fried chicken or philly cheese steak. The bartender, Jeanie is superwoman. She's on top of everything and very informative. She deserves a shift drink. From chicago and this place is worth going to.
Laurie, the chef, is absolutely amazing! She came out to chat with us about her cooking, and we were completely impressed by the food. There were six of us, and we all left feeling fully satisfied. We are definitely coming back tomorrow night for the Prime Rib!
I had an amazing experience at this restaurant. The owner is one of the kindest and most passionate people I've ever encountered. The food was absolutely delightful. Overall, it was a fantastic meal and a memorable experience.
