I really enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere of this restaurant, and the staff were very friendly. There was a great variety of dishes to choose from. I had the steak and eggs, and the flavor of the steak was excellent, although there was a decent-sized piece of fat on it. The home fries were very tasty. My kids had schnapps and pancakes, which were just how I like them: not too doughy and with a nice crispy grid. My wife ordered the fried seafood platter and had no complaints. We also tried the hash brown casserole as a side; it had a distinct flavor that I couldn't quite identify—maybe it was from the oil or the onions. There's a lot of options on the menu for breakfast, lunch or dinner. They also have weekly AUCE specials and daily specials on the board. I enjoyed the Knight's Breakfast with hash brown casserole, Grits, sausage links, two eggs and sausage biscuit with gravy. Everything came out hot and fresh. If the onions in the casserole were chopped smaller and cooked longer it would've been perfect. The AUCE pulled pork was good and very filling. The prices were reasonable. The service was great. Lady's were super nice!
Great homey feel, pleasant staff, wide selection. Had steak and eggs, steak flavor was very good but had a decent sized piece of fat on it. Home fries were very good. The food is well-prepared and feels like home cooking, and the service is both friendly and efficient. However, the condition of the restaurant leaves much to be desired. There is a sign indicating they are relocating, which affects my overall impression, so I’ll give it a 4 out of 5. I highly recommend the burger, country steak, and buffalo chicken—delicious!

I ate at Haystax with my husband on a Sunday and my dinner was 5 star, very delicious! I had fried chicken livers and they were superb. Most other places they are dry, sometimes hard and not appetizing. The livers I ate at Haystax were wonderful, moist, seasoned just right, and the batter were so delicious. I have never eaten such good livers.Thank you!
We had a very short waiting time to sit in a somewhat small stand. That means our server was absolutely great. Let the coffee never run out. We have received our delicious food in no time. I wanted to try Haystack because it is owned by the same people who own Countryside Dinner. I wasn't disappointed at all. Both places are great.
Call a few times a month. Great food. Always on time. Only once the order was not turned on. Was busy that day. Food cooked as ordered. Waitresses always beautiful and add forks and spices as needed. I'll eat there again. Chopped Sirloin and breakfast is excellent. One of the best restaurants / restaurants in Mt. Dora area.

The waitress was pleasant. The food was delicious. It was a lot for the spent amount. I would have got 5 stars, but the young lady who checked us with the nose ring was not friendly.
