I was gifted a camper van rental by my sons for my birthday. I’ve never driven one before, so I didn’t want to venture too far from home on my first trip. After researching all available sites for this weekend, I came across this...place. I brought a friend with me and my two dogs and we were welcomed onto the site and asked if we wanted to be near to the facilities. Very grateful for that! We came here last night for a meal to celebrate our anniversary. When we first arrived we were sat in a noisy part of the pub and so the waiter very kindly asked us if we wanted to move. However when we were sat at...our new table the chairs were so hard I was really uncomfortable. Our food took a long time to come and when it arrived we were told the ticket had been lost and the chef sent his apologies which we didn’t mind as these things happen. Unfortunately my meal was quite disappointing, I had a chicken Kiev with ham and mozzarella but I had to dig three quarters of the way into the Kiev to find any ham and mozzarella as there was barely any in there. My partner and I finished off a lovely day out by having dinner at the pub and to start with the positives: we were delighted by the ambience very cosy with the fire going and the decor was really nice too. The location is...brilliant and the autumn theming is really lovely to take in. Staff were welcoming and friendly throughout and really made an effort which is why I have been reluctant to write this review. Went to this lovely pub on Sunday for a family birthday and cannot fault it. We started with a drink at the bar and the staff were lovely and very welcoming. We were then shown to our table in the lovely dining area. The service...was quick but we did not feel rushed and the staff checked a couple of times that we had everything we needed. I had an amazing dinner for my birthday at this restaurant. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a local pub that serves delicious, honest food. The chef is almost a genius - the starters (Brie and Mackerel Pate) were nearly perfect. They just needed to be a bit warmer, have more Mackerel, and be a slightly smaller size to be perfection. The Chicken Pie and Ribeye steak, on the other hand, were perfect. The pie was so good that I wanted the recipe, but I doubt I could recreate it as well. I went to this restaurant with my parents and we sat outside in the beautiful sunshine. I opted for the fish and chips, which were excellent. I really appreciated that the chips were proper and real, although they were a bit too firm for my taste. One thing that bothered me was that the food was served in a basket with paper, which I feel takes away from the dining experience. The rest of my family enjoyed their burgers, although the buns were a bit dry even with the sauce. Despite these small issues, we will definitely be returning to try more items from the menu at this hidden gem.

Enjoyed a delicious course meal, and couldn’t of left happier! The vegan steak was amazing, and such a great option for a menu to have. Special mention to the dessert menu, it was so difficult to choose what to have as they all sounded...delicious. Chose the vegan lotus cheesecake, and it’s the nicest cheesecake I’ve ever tried vegan or not!

We hired the long room with courtyard for our gathering. It was ideal for families and the children had space to move around. Staff were friendly and helpful, food was delicious and well presented with vegetarian options. I would recommend this venue to anyone wanting...somewhere to hire for a family celebration

Today we went for lunch and were greeted by incredibly polite staff. My wife and I both had the pork chop with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The food was delicious and the location was fantastic. Overall, it was faultless.

Sad to say but the dinner was awful. Cod littered with bones, one of the orders arrived minutes late and the children’s serving was only suitable for toddlers. Won’t be going for dinner anytime soon. Only took off one meal.
