Heckman's Delicatessen

I was working a little bit longer in Bethesda today than I anticipated, and I had a craving for a grilled cheese sandwich. I decided to look at restaurants in the area that was within walking distance from my job, and I settled on Heckman's Deli. I was especially excited to try the grilled cheese BLT sandwich meal, and so I ordered that for pickup through Uber Eats. It was ready within 10-15 minutes, and I couldn't wait to eat it. Unfortunately, when I got to the sandwich, I discovered that it was just a plain grilled cheese sandwich. No bacon, lettuce, tomato, or mayo. I was utterly confused and saddened by this. I ended up calling the restaurant and the manager was shocked that my order was wrong after I explained to her what happened. She apologized and I appreciated it very much. Even though the restaurant couldn't give me a refund, I was able to get my money back via Uber Eats. I'm not sure what happened today that caused my sandwich to be totally wrong, but I'm willing to give this place another chance. I may have to try ordering the food through the website as opposed to Uber Eats, but I will still give Heckman's Deli a try again as the food was excellent.

We ordered some food through Uber eats when our entire family was sick with the flu and it saved our weekend. The matzah ball soup was amazing, so flavorful and just what I needed. The matzah ball was packaged separately so it didn’t get soggy in transport. The deep dish or Sicilian style pizza was a really pleasant surprise. I’ve been looking for great pizza in Bethesda for a year and when I least expected it found it. The chicken fingers and fries were good but no surprises there. Highly recommend!

I ordered the chicken salad on sourdough and it delicious fresh ingredients and prepared like I requested. I also ordered the chips and chicken noodle soup both were delicious. It was a Doordash order and it was packaged and received fresh and hot. Food was great this was my first time trying but it definitely won't be the last. Thank you

Now located in Caddies. Great burgers and the Reuben sandwich is the best around. Take advantage of the lunch specials served until 3 pm. They have a kids menu too. Highly recommend!

Really excellent matzo ball soup and fancy grilled cheese! My girlfriend ordered for me when I was feeling sick and the soup definitely helped me feel better.
