This restaurant (translated means Holy Spirit Hospital is one I have passed by as I walked over the bridge but this was the first time I had ventured inside. (The entrance is quite...hard to find. Immediately there is a mood of historic Bavaria, you are greeted by a medieval knight's suit of armour. The lighting is quite low and there was a gentle hubbub which means something is going on but not in a raucous way. Great experience in a great atmosphere.... been there several times every year i visit nurnberg during the fairs and it is always pack full ....the service is great even when busy and the food is really great... schweine axe and Klos is my favourite but...i was also surprised by the Carp fish and stunned by a delicious apple strudel... A great dinner with my dad only 2 weeks ago ...even without a reservation in a full house restaurant thanks to the creativity of the guy at the door...you really feel welcome !
I had the pork knuckle which was delicious! it came with a potato dumpling which I didn't care for but I had ordered fried potatoes which were very good.My 3 year old granddaughter who is not the best eater loved the pork knuckle too and...thats saying something. The restaurant it self was so lovely just walking into it. All decorated for Christmas. the interior reminded me of a hunting lodge look, woodsy antlers... very nice.
We have visited the restaurant without reservation during the Christmas market time in an evening. Seating was easy, most people had their dinner in the market. Service was fast, choice of available dishes was a bit limited. The place is very pleasant, due to the...Christmas decorations, it was the essence of German traditional dining. The food was above average, but a bit too fatty and salty.

this place greeted me and gave me the opportunity to occupy a whole table, although I was alone. the waitress was very helpful and friendly. she helped me understand the menu, even if I don't speak German. the fish I ate was fabulous...prepared the atmosphere of the place is really cool. I recommend this restaurant.
This restaurant is in an old Hospital. It serves wonderful local Franken/Bavarian meals. The decor and ambience are authentic. The service was quick and friendly. We had the Wedding Soup which is actually Liver Dumpling soup 1st Class.
Spectacular vast room with unchanged early 20th century decoration and furnishings. Staff are all Lederhosen and Dirndls. Terrific Schnitzel, which, draught Urbräu and wine, came to €39.50. Don’t miss it if you visit Nuremberg.
