Heirloom Cafe Bistro

Last evening myself and four other guests had my birthday dinner at 'Loom ' Cafe Bistro in Almonte. We sat outdoors in a spacious lovely outdoor patio overlooking the Mississippi river. I have not had this good a meal in a very long time. We shared...three different appetizers and every bite of each dish was unique, fresh and full of flavour. Our main courses included lamb, tuna and beef and honestly every dish was as delicious as the other. Each cooked to tender perfection. We shared three desserts that were creme brule with apple puree, a chocolate cake and a date cake (see pic). My husband and I had booked a couple of days away at the Waring House in Picton for our anniversary, but due to horrible customer service in advance of our stay, cancelled and decided to stay at home and order a take out meal. We...ordered the Stilton Cheese Appetizer, 2 bowls of Red Pepper and Brie Soup, Beef Short Ribs, Lamb Shank and the Dark Chocolate Cake. Our order was ready exactly when we arrived, was piping hot, beautifully presented in the take out containers and delicious. I was not able to eat all of my meal, so will enjoy it again tomorrow. We ordered beef short ribs, yellowfin tuna, salads and pumpkin butternut cake. They answered the phone to take my order at 9 am, what a pleasant surprise! Everything was packed up perfectly and ready for pickup, but more importantly the food is outstanding! Delicious every...bite, licked the dressing containers because we could). We wanted to pick up early and eat later so they packed up the mains in reheatable containers separate from the condiments salads and desserts so it was easy. Can’t wait for taco Tuesday ! 5

we started to go to loom when it was heirloom bistro and never disappointed. the move into the new location is still very picturesque and beautiful. a so beautiful atmosphere with friendly staff. eating is great. I can't live without the Arancini balls, her...appetizer cheesecake (if available is unreal) and her main cow curd is so delicious! taste some cocktails that they are delicious and always well presented. proud, a room of almonte and brag about this fantastic restaurant. every Tuesday loom makes a selection of three different tacos. they are all excellent with great aromen and burst with garnish. we go almost every week. in summer and autumn the terrace at the river is wonderful. the interior is small with a reasonable distance. so that they can only accommodate some guests. make sure!

taco Tuesday was really good eating! chicken and avocado, pork and black beans, and fried garnel. we all tried. good portion sizes! dessert was frightened! rhubarb cream brulee, and cheesecake. both winners! 2 local design beer for choice, very pleasant service from the personal.

dinner for the Loom freezer was delicious. we had two portions of lamb-Kich-Pea curry, which was fabulous. we also had the winter plant suppe, which was brilliant. many thanks.
