I enjoyed the food and service. Unfortunately, not the greatest place to park, but food makes up for any inconvenience. Got a to go order. The wings are amazing. Got 24 wingettes. I was worried they may be too hot, so I got half mild and half plain. The mild was perfect. The plain was also really good. Also got the waffles. They were delicious. The catfish was so delectable. I special requested that they fry the catfish hard. I thought I was going to break it in half and share, but I couldn't stop eating it with the slices of bread. I got two sides. The fries had too much seasoning. I actually rinsed some of the seasoning off. I also got the Okra, but they were bland... almost flavorless. I...
Came into Nashville from Toronto on the hunt for the best Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and did we ever find it here. Anyone who tells you to go to Hattie B’s or anywhere else has never eaten at Helen’s. Their Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich tastes like it was made by God himself juicy, flavourful and the portions are huge. Look no further for your hunt because Helen’s does everything right. Service and everything was top notch with everything made fresh to order.
As a tourist, we tried our first found round of touristic spots like Hattie's B (their meat is now commercialized so is not as tender is it were and way overhyped), Party Fowl that was alright, Prince's which was also ok. But Helen's was the absolute best, it is made with love, you are welcomed feeling like home and I would come back just to come and eat here again. The price is very well priced and chicken tender or sandwich is the way to go!
1st stop once we dropped our bags at the hotel.....wanted a real authentic food experience and we got it. To die for chicken with mac and cheese. No complaints from anyone in the family. Even my picky eater enjoyed the food. Cute atmosphere....got there before the crowds but can tell its a popular place. Must do if staying in Nashville...price was good...get a decent amount of food. A must if you want to try Nashville Hot Chicken

Went here for lunch with a friend. Got the hot chicken sandwich and some of the Helen hot tenders with Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was amazing, just like home bake Mac and cheese, very cheesy and creamy. The tenders were cooked to perfection. The tenders were crispy on the outside and juicey on the inside. The sauces were also very flavourful. Highly recommend.
Fantastic food! This is the best hot chicken in Nashville. The flavor at the Jefferson Street location is superior, but the Smyrna location is still quite tasty. Everything is made fresh to order, so expect to wait at least 20 minutes. I usually stick to the mild level, even though I enjoy spicy food (coming from New Orleans)!
This location is great. The cashier is friendly and the cooks are excellent. These men know how to cook fish. Everyone I purchased the catfish sandwich for were pleased with their meal.However, parking is not the best in the Vandy area. Safety can be an issue when crossing the street.
We ordered both mild and hot chicken tenders, and they were both fantastic. The mild ones still had a nice kick to them. The fries were crispy and tasty! The service was exceptional; we felt welcomed and well looked after. We would definitely return!

According to the website the three piece tender comes with 2 sides-it's pictured as such as well-but there were no sides. 14 dollars for 4 tenders is nuts. Also, I paid for two different sauces. They only sent me one kind.
Helen's offers great hot chicken in Nashville. The chicken is juicy and flavorful. The pricing is also reasonable. I highly recommend it.
