Hen of the Wood - Reserva de mesa

We were visiting Burlington for just the one night and this reservation was far worth it. The service was impeccable, with multiple wait staff assigned to tables, leaving no needs unattended. The open kitchen made for an interesting show and very flavourful aromas. The wine list was excellent. We had the radicchio salad, which was spectacular. We also had the Hen of the Wood's creative take on tartar. The ambiance was quaint for such a large venue. The restaurant has a wood-burning grill we will be back for steak!

Not sure I can say anything that hasn't already been said, but this is probably one of the best restaurants I've been to in the US. Every single item we ordered was clearly designed with intention and made with care. Unique combinations of seasonal ingredients peach, corn, and brie in the appetizer, for example were a real treat. And the local LaPlatte beef was simply stellar. It's a splurge and you might have to book a ways out depending on the season, but it's absolutely worth it.

Had a lovely dinner there seated in their Butcher Room, a private dining area perfect for our group of 8. Service was excellent great recommendations for wine pairings and local cheeses and very attentive to specific food allergies in our group. Overall, I'd say the food was very, very good, but not special. A really nice dining experience. Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating. Customized a plate or two and advised us on the ingredients of every dish.

Wow! My fiance and I recently visited for dinner and could not have been happier. Every single course of our meal was fantastic. Amazing cheese boards, very fresh swordfish and steak. Quality ingredients and food. When they say farm to table here, they mean it! Also do not skip dessert. The orange cake was the best cake we have ever eaten. There's a reason Hen of the Wood is fully booked for weeks in advance. Fantastic food, excellent service, great cocktails. Try to get a reservation when you're in town, you can activate the notification on the reservation website for last minute cancellations if the day and time you're looking for isn't available. Last minute Walk-in and were offered a spot at the bar. Best decision of the day. The pastrami duck was an delicious surprise and the work put into the veggies definitely shows. My personal highlight, the olive oil cake. You will not be disappointed!
