Popped in here for a brunch/lunch after visiting the farmers market (literally right in front of Hennessey's) on Saturday. Wasn't too crowded, lots of outdoor seating, as well as some inside seating available. It was seat yourself, then the wait staff came and found you. They have weekend specials for drinks- **** Mary's and mimosas! They had a breakfast menu available, as well as their whole regular menu. I got the chicken club sandwich, comes with house made kettle chips. I honestly do not usually like kettle chips, but these were yummy! The hubs got fish and chips- he said they were delish- fried nice a crispy, but not too oily or over done. The tarter sauce was really good as well.
We were in Dana point for the fourth of July so you know what that means it was crowded everywhere. However it wasnt super bad here. We got sat right away. We tried the poke for an appetizer and I was so surprised how good it was. I really was not expecting that. I tried the mushroom swiss burger. I was hoping it wasnt going to be a bland burger and it unfortunately it was. Everything about the burger was one note. The mushrooms had no flavor and neither did the burger patty. It was disappointing. The fries however were good. I wouldn't rush back for the food.
This is a great place for drinks, live music, and football. The locals here are friendly and have a great sense of humor. There's plenty of seating available, and the terrace is a nice touch. Update 1/2: I visited with a group for lunch, and the food was fantastic. There was live music once again, and the same wonderful locals were there. I really enjoy coming here; there's always space, the food is excellent, the drinks are good, and everyone is enjoyable to be around.
Tonight was a night of just looking for a good place to get some nachos. Well you might not believe this but Hennessy’s came through for us even with a little custom add on. The. To our surprise this Friday night they have a live band killing it in here. I suggest when you just want a simple drink and night out with a little music hit up this place you won’t be disappointed.

Definitely worth a visit!
This is a great spot for drinks, but I would not recommend dining here again. The burger was overcooked and lacking in size, and the spinach dip tasted like a bowl of warm mayonnaise. Considering the quality of the food, it was quite overpriced, with the burger costing $13.
Beautiful outdoor terrace. Good specials when you show up on the right day. Two burgers for the price of 1 on Tuesday. Live music at weekends during the day.

It's a good bar and barbecue. No complaints. The food was good. Nothing really jumped out, so there are 4 stars. But no complaints.
Bar and beer was great. Dinner was good, had the shepherds pie. Wait staff was courteous.
