Went there with a friend who lives in the neighbourhood. Heuriger' are a very traditional type of Austrian restaurant, somewhere between a buffet and a traditional dining establishment. You can order from the fixed menu or simply walk in and order what you like out...of the counter, which makes it a lot more flexible. For specific dishes (ham hocks, for instance) the menu even details how long you will have to wait as everything is made fresh to order. The place is conveniently located round the corner from the Ottakring (line 3) metro station and can also be easily reached by tram (number 2). this is a great traditional Austrian restaurant and not on all tourist (no English menus.) I visited twice and would definitely go back! if it is warmer, they have a beautiful courtyard area where they can sit outside. like other cheerful order them drinks. at the table, but order her to eat at the counter. nice location with several dining rooms. I personally prefer to sit in the big stüberl with the open fireplace. the wetsleut' and the staff are always very nice and friendly. eating was always super perfect! more than sufficient portions to adequate ottakringer preisen. in the summer dear inner courtyard.Conclusive: very, very nice to spend a few hours in a more sociable round!
Although the buffet you expect at a Viennise Heuriger was smaller than average, the food was exceptionally good. Some orders, like Grammel Knödel (filled potatoe dumplings) take 20-30 min to prepare, the wait is worth it. And anyways, you shouldn't go to a Heuriger to...just quickly eat, but to sit, drink wine and enjoy your company...
wonderful wine at the good price, fantastic blunzenradl, huge portions (ok, the herbs were a bit boring, no matter.),) drinking water free, dedicated, charming waitress - and a great evening with authentic wienerliedes and friendly people at the table. great that there is still! this will be our future tribal in the meadow.
we ordered two carnivals a huh and a pig one-- both delicious. most of them had to pack to go, because we couldn't eat it. there is a selection of supplements on the bar. the beer and the apple juice were also great.

15 years ago we were here. it has not changed! very friendly staff, tasty kitchen from the finest and ingenious weine. at the price we had to ask again if everything was actually calculated. always worth a trip.
