One word. Authentic. I was visiting the area desperately searching for quality sushi…and I found gold. A mom and pop sushi spot owned by a real 70+ year old Japanese sushi chef. He’s tough so don’t expect a fake smile and giggles. And as in Japan, you must earn his respect…then the giggles will come. And because he’s a former US Marine (fact! he deserves even more respect. A Japanese-born US Marine veteran…how rare is that?! Big respect. We ordered two of the 18 piece sushi/sashimi combos…3 nights in a row. Amazing. Top quality. It would cost 2x in the Silicon Valley. The owner is the mad hatter of sushi, to much exposure to heavy metals from the tuna over the years. I love this man and his sushi. Some of the best sushi I’ve Had, and at really good prices. I walked in there and called a spicy tuna roll sushi. And it set him off on an intense rant about what’s the difference between sushi and a roll. It was a lot of fun. I started yelling back and then we laughed. The fish is fresh and they put a lot of love into everything. His wife is a sweet heart as well

Steve and Jackie are truly wonderful people. The food is exceptional and the prices are fantastic. I've ordered catering for the holidays multiple times and have also enjoyed their lunch specials regularly. My sons and I were heartbroken to see the "for lease" sign in their window. I hope they are doing well. I would happily visit them at a new location if they decide to move.

Best sushi I have ever had. I have been to many other sushi restaurants in the past and it never compares to Steve’s master sushi artistry. Steve and his wife Jackie are the best duo in the business. Hi sushi is my home away from home.

Not only is the food disgusting but the owner is the nastiest human being I have ever met. He’s actually deranged. I wouldn’t give this business another penny, even if it was the last sushi place left on Earth. ZERO STARS

Does anyone know what happened? I've known Steve and Jackie since high school back in 2002, and the last time I saw them was a few weeks ago. I really wish I could get in touch with them to see how they're doing.

Food is just as good as more expensive places. They only have a few small tables for dining in but we were getting takeout so not an issue. Prompt and delicious, will be ordering again! Reserva una mesa ahora

Really good! Quick service, great price, super nice owners, and the food was excellent. Will definitely come back. They also sell Japanese products (snacks, soy sauce, beverages)

I've been going to Hi Sushi for almost 20 years now, really good Japanese food and sushi rolls but it's almost never open on the weekends.
