My wife and I love to find the hidden gem type restaurants and this while not hidden was a real gem. We were hungry and wanted something substantial. We didn't feel like going the fine dinning route so we tried the Hi-way on a whim,...great choice. We thought it might be a little tight for seating, as there were only a couple of spots in the front. The restaurant opened up and there was much more seating however it was full and we know where the locals eat on Friday night!. That said the service was excellent, two great meal served in a timely fashion by a folksy waitress. After our meals we got to chat briefly with the waitress Deb who has worked there for 35 years! Simcoe has been around since the 70s and is known as a go-to spot for special occasions. However, my recent experience was disappointing. I ordered the Western omelette and soup special, but both dishes fell short. The eggs in the omelette were burnt and the soup had an unexpected bone left in it, along with barely melted cheese on top. The server never checked in on us to see how our meal was. The atmosphere of the restaurant has remained unchanged since the 70s, giving it a dingy and dark feel. It seems like the place is slowly fading away and no one seems to care. I would recommend looking for a better dining option elsewhere in the city.

Recently I was part of a group of nine ladies who had a wonderful dining experience at the Hi-Way Restaurant in Simcoe...A variety of orders was placed from the lunch menu and everyone was quite happy with their choice of food and drink. Service was...friendly, informative, and very efficient. The breakfast, lunch, dinner, and daily specials menus are certainly extensive and offered at reasonable prices. We look forward to returning in the very near future and will enjoy chatting with our very personable server once again!!!

This restaurant is a great representation of home-cooked meals. My favorite dish is the black carving, while my wife enjoys the chicken parmesan with spaghetti on the side. The spaghetti is particularly delicious. I have never had a bad meal here, whether dining as a couple or in a group. There are no complaints to be had. The prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. The staff is very friendly and the interior, while a bit dated, is very clean. We plan on becoming regular customers. Reserva una mesa ahora

I hate stopping at fast food joints (food is tasteless and monotonous) for anything other than coffee so we stopped at the Hi-Way Restaurant in Simcoe for lunch. It does not look like much from the outside, but is well appointed on the inside with...a very good luncheon menu. We both had the soup and sandwich, the latter being basically scrambled eggs with spinach and herbs. It was very tasty. The service was also very good and the waitress very friendly.

We brought a friend and her husband to the restaurant for her birthday dinner. The home-cooked food is consistently delicious. Two of us ordered the pork schnitzel and ham steak, while one person opted for the liver and onions. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The service was fast and courteous as well.

the waiting staff never lets you wait for something. service is great. if they are with a group, this is the place to go due to the variety of menus. Best hot beef sandwich! or you can have fish, pasta, truthahn, suppe, chicken finger or pigeon. try to save space for a piece of cake!

This little jewel of a restaurant doesn't get all of the credit it deserves but survives and grows by word of mouth of customers. The Hi Way restaurant is a local landmark, Jimmy the owner is the sweetest person in the industry.The food is all homemade and the desserts are great.
