After a glowing recommendation from a friend, we decided to visit the Hickory Stick for an evening meal during the week and I'm so glad we did the staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble and the food was great. I'm vegetarian and sometimes find that even a vegetarian menu does not appeal. However the choices were just perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and will definitely be visiting again. I do believe we have also found the venue for our Christmas get together.
Lovely lovely staff. Food served really quickly even though it was quite busy. Pretty disappointed with the food. I had Spinach, Pepper and Cream Cheese and Tomato Tarts and Chips. I thought it would be more like quiche but if was two little tart cases with the spinach and cream cheese in. Didn't taste amazing either so I left most of it. Chips were lovely though. I was with two friends who had baguettes and chips and they said they were great.
Went last week for works Christmas party. 3 course meal followed by 10pin bowling. Usually when a company is catering for multiple big parties at the same time the food is mediocre at best. But the hickory stick totally pulled it out of the bag! The food was absolutely delicious, hot, very tasty, plentiful, fresh i really couldn't fault any of it. Will certainly be back soon. Well, what can we say, went on Sunday for lunch with our daughters and their families including a 2 1/2 and 1 1/2 yr old grandsons. The meal was wonderful as usual at the Grove and the service was excellent including catering for a young one with a dairy allergy. Nothing was too much trouble, we will certainly continue to be regular customers. Well done team!!

The staff go above and beyond to help, especially Adam and Zara. From the planning to the day they were kind and helpful. The food, a mix of chilled baguettes and hot pizza, baguettes, nachos etc was excellent. Very good tasting food at sensible prices, presented very nicely. The bowling was fun and despite the venue being very busy everything went well.
We had a really lovely meal here on my birthday. We played 10 pin bowling first and then enjoyed a first class meal in the restaurant. Everything was excellent. We had a variety of dishes from vegetarian to children’s to delicious local lamb. We all enjoyed our food which was not only delicious but was very reasonably priced. We will definitely be back!
Works Christmas lunch was top notch. So many Christmas lunches out are often a bit underwhelming but this place did a really great job. Lots of us to serve all at once too. Staff friendly and efficient, portions huge, roast potatoes and parsnips hot and crispy and all other veg perfectly cooked. Extra gravy too. Well done to all the staff.
thank you for extending your 10.30am breakfast serving time to 11am so all my family member could all be together ...breakfast was amazing and all came out pipeing hot...very good quality ingredients and great size portions....deffo worth a visit...well done...
