Went on a Friday night and was seated quickly which was a plus. Ordered the heirloom fried green tomato salad and crab cakes as appetizers. The salad was a decent portion but the crab cakes came with just two pieces. At $13 I don?t recommend them even though the flavors were good. I got the goat curry stew that had plantains. It was wonderful! Great portion size and prepared very well. I?d ordered it again for sure. I left 4 stars since the apps I feel like weren?t the best especially for their value.
While visiting from out of town, I came across Highland Kitchen on Google. I was a little unsure going in, but I ended up being extremely impressed with the whole experience. The service was professional and helpful. The food was amazing. I ordered the pretzel, half chicken, and fries and all three were served hot. They were all delicious. I definitely recommend Highland Kitchen to anyone looking for tasty food in a relaxed atmosphere.
I learned to love the Brussels sprout salad thanks to these guys. It is such a friendly neighborhood joint, open late, relaxed and boot with a good cook. All my favorite dishes are appetizers and deserts, so I usually order two of the first and one of the latter I like because I never feel stuffed here after eating. Large beer selection. It can be overfilled on certain week nights.
My wife and I had a delicious dinner, and the frozen Mai Thai was really good. I miss the Pat the waiter who moved away, he was so kind and warm. The waiter we got was also kind and warm, but Pat was much taller than him, giving him more volume for kindness and more surface area for warmth. There is nothing this other guy could do, it's physics.
