Well we were trying to get into nearby crossroads food shop early sunday afternoon but the wait was over an hour, so we went next door. We walked in and we were the only ones there. We sat by the back window, old local decorations were inviting. But the fire coming out of the wood fired pizza oven was exceptionally inviting. Our server was very friendly accomodating and in full covid compliance. We had a delicious, fresh meal. We both had Little Gem Salads with grilled chicken, great flavors, superb ingredients and nice presentation with house made dressings. Cole Slaw side was very good; gluten free bun was available for my wife who wanted some bread. We were excited they had saratoga spark...
On Sunday, we decided to stop for lunch while driving through town. Despite the restaurant not being busy, it took over 50 minutes to receive our order of Fish and Chips and a mushroom burger. When I inquired with our waitress, she explained that there was a large table outside that had delayed our meals. Once our food arrived, I was disappointed to find that my fish was a small fillet with a thick and flavorless batter, while my wife's burger was not up to par, especially with the supposed pickled carrots. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, the kitchen staff merely dismissed my complaints. We will not be returning and I will be sure to share our negative experience with others.
Despite these issues, the Chicken Parmesan was very good and generous in portion size. However, the waitress questioned us on what was wrong with it even though we were planning to take leftovers home. The Prime Rib was tasty and cooked rare as requested, but we felt it would've been better with horseradish sauce. The pulled pork was dry, and we would have liked a side of BBQ sauce. Additionally, the waitress failed to mention that zucchini was being substituted for green beans, and the zucchini had too many seeds and pulp compared to squash. We were not asked if we wanted dessert or coffee. Overall, we are unsure if we will return to this restaurant.
This restaurant is a classic old-fashioned tavern that is a rare find in the USA. The building itself dates back to 1797 and was originally a stagecoach stop. It's the kind of place you would read about in books where you would check in at the tavern, which is very uncommon in the US and makes it really cool. The food was delicious - I got takeout and the calamari was a generous portion, while the pulled pork was especially tasty. Both the bartender and waitress were friendly and provided great service.

My wife and I dined at this restaurant today. Unfortunately, my wife's Southwestern chicken sandwich was undercooked in the middle. My son and I enjoyed the lobster rolls, which were delicious. The atmosphere was nice, but overall the meal was terrible. On a positive note, the waiter provided great service.
I recently visited this restaurant for a burger, despite never having been to Hillsdale before. As a long-time resident of Stockbridge, I wasn't sure what to expect. The food was excellent and the service was top-notch. I highly recommend this place!
We visited this restaurant for some cider. The ambience was lovely with nice decor, and the bartender provided excellent service. Overall, the service and atmosphere were both rated 5 out of 5.
The braised beef short rib sandwich and macaroni and cheese were delicious! The food was great and the service was outstanding.

Salmon was delicious. I usually get half the size at other restaurants. Just a little more expensive but definitely worth it.
We got takeout from here and it was very tasty, and reasonably priced. Friendly staff at pickup. Recommend!
