We spent an hour at Hilltop Retreat and never received our food. We arrived at 7:00 pm, were seated by 7:15 pm, ready to order by 7:18 pm, and our order wasn’t taken until 7:30 pm. When we asked about our food at 8:00 pm, the waitress checked with the kitchen and said it would be another seven minutes. However, other tables seated at the same time had already gotten their sides, mains, and drinks and were nearly finished. It seemed like our order was lost. We had dinner on a Saturday early evening. It was starting to get busy and we didn’t have a reservation but we got a nice table. My husband has been hungry for prime rib for weeks so he knew exactly what he was going to have. Our server Courtney was extremely efficient very sweet. The meal of prime walleye was just excellent. It’s not really easy to find this place and they’re only open Friday, Saturday for dinner Sunday breakfast but it’s definitely worth our drive. I hope to get back soon.
It definitely was the local place to be on Fridays. My husband and I had an amazing meal! He had the fish fry, and I had the Chicken Alfredo. They are not shy about their portions by far. The young lady who was our server was fabulous. She checked on us consistently even though it was busy and updated us on when our food was going to arrive. Plus, she's so sweet and friendly. It was a real pleasure having her as our server 10/10 guest experience!

They earned all 5 stars. First time going here and we were beyond impressed with the amazing service while they were swapped. Every food option was amazing. We even got 2 hoodies for 20 a piece.We will be returning soon! Kid-friendliness: Really great kid options with large portions.
Wonderful location and outstanding food, but what truly stands out are Justin and Casey—they are some of the kindest people you’ll ever encounter. On top of that, they genuinely care about their customers, treating them like friends.
I enjoyed an incredible dinner at Hilltop Retreat last night! The shrimp was perfectly cooked, and the chicken caprese tasted amazing. The service was outstanding too!
It seemed like our waitress was inexperienced, and the ribs didn't justify the price. The portion was small and had very little meat.
