**Atmosphere:** 3/5. Hinode is situated in a small strip mall off Congressional, where parking can be a bit challenging. The mall features several popular businesses, making it tough to find a spot during busy hours. On multiple occasions, we've had to park on nearby side streets and walk to the restaurant. Inside, Hinode has a typical sushi restaurant vibe, with numerous four-top tables and a large wooden sushi bar dominating the main dining area. Great service but the overall food quality is very low considering the cost and the history of this place. While times are hard indeed the rice had an old taste, the salmon dishes didn't quite taste right and the texture and temperature was too warm. The gyoza paper was off putting but so was the filling. While I was a coward and didn't bring this to the waitress attention I was literally staring at the guy behind the counter making the sushi. Perhaps the all you can eat days of old are long gone. Go up the pike to get better quality sushi for the same price.
Let me tell you that this is my favorite sushi restaurant of all times! I especially love their buffets or all you can eat options, because I get to try a variety of excellent food! It has been consistently delicious ever time I have been here in the last couple years. I love bringing my friends and family here too (pre COVID of course) and they all enjoy and love it just as much! The staff is always so wonderful and friendly. Can't wait for the next time I get to eat there!
This is clearly a FIVE STAR dining facility. No more BUFFET as of 2020Sept but service to your table all you can eat is OUTSTANDING. I know because I've eaten many Sushi places and this is TOP. The practice safe food prep and social safety inside. They care about you! The food, not only Sushi is designed in an appetizing manner. You will not be disappointed, and you will return!

I wasn't quite sure what to anticipate when I arrived, but I was pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome from the staff and then thoroughly impressed by the food. The sushi had a unique twist compared to what I've had before, with a bit more rice in the rolls, but it was delicious! I also found the prices to be quite reasonable.
Maybe not the greatest sushi in the world but it's darn good. Our family goes there a couple times a year. Lots of variety. Always fresh. It's reliable, a good meal, and a nice place to go to. It's nice for our family there's plenty of variety for everyone. Can't go wrong here.
We have been loyal customers for 10 years and absolutely love this place. The sushi is fantastic, and the service is always friendly. The owner, Susan, is wonderful; she remembers her customers, which adds a personal touch to every visit. It's always a joy to come here.
Don't listen to the negative reviews. This is my favorite AYCE Japanese in Maryland! Great mix if sushi, salads, and Japanese food with good enough service. Can est outside too. I love it.
