When I turned up at this place on a hot afternoon, the shaded, expansive deck with a breeze that ran through the entire restaurant made it a very pleasant spot indeed. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed at that point, but the bar was serving so I grabbed a drink and settled in among the other patrons enjoying the quiet, relaxed atmosphere sheltered from the sun. This is a big place and judging from the number of staff there preparing for the evening of trade ahead, it's popular as well. Along with the restaurant and bar, there is a separate gaming area. The Sands is my work local, so my colleagues and I have eaten everything on the menu several times over I think,and we keep going back, so it must be OK. It 's pretty good food and a nice atmosphere. The chicken schnitzel, burger and chicken wrap are popular choices, and there 's usually a cheap steak on offer. I like the open verandah style end of the restaurant, which always catches a breeze and has an outlook over Raby Bay and, beyond that, to Moreton Bay. The Sands is part of the 'Our Hotels ' group and by joining an email list you can get member prices at the register by flashing a little tag they 'll give you. The beer garden 's a bit older and rowdier, but still a nice place to be on...

GOOD VIBES ! I first came here with a good work mate of mine in the mid 90 's whose brother-in-law was the hotel manager. Not much to argue about....good old Jack Daniels Coke my drink back in the day and ****** great Fish 'n ' Chips. Years later in 2003 my future wife and I moved into an oceanfront townhouse in Shore St. North, Cleveland...pretty close to the pub. We came here for karaoke and dinner a couple of times. The Cleveland Sands Hotel pretty much reigns supreme in Cleveland, Queensland !

I went to this restaurant for lunch and was pleased to see that the menu clearly indicated vegan options. I decided to try the chickpea and beetroot burger, but unfortunately found it to be quite tasteless. The toppings included just tomato, lettuce, and a watery avocado spread. I ordered tea and was disappointed to find that soy milk was the only dairy-free option available. It's 2022 after all, so I expected more variety. This was a rather nice pub with some rather friendly staff, though it certainly isn't one of my favourites in the area. In a way it is more like a fancy restaurant, or at least the bistro out the back was, where I decided to go and grab a drink. The service was pretty good though, and the beer selection was okay, though not necessarily all that fantastic. Still, it was a nice pub, and being close to the railway station certainly helped as well.

My partner and I had dinner here for the first time since the revamp. The service was really good. I had the fisherman's basket for one. Most of it was good but the fish was not fresh and tasted soapy. I will go back and try again though. Has a nice atmosphere

Unfriendly and rude staff. Sent email 3 weeks ago which was ignored concerning lost property. Their toilets including their new ones are gross and vandalised.
