ok, although we were three months in darmstadt, we were still tourist sites that made the tourist ding. to get lantern in the hobbit falls into this category, although many of our German friends have drunk them too. the lanterns consist of hard cedar,...lemoner soda and a champagne glass of cherry liquor, which is gently placed in the middle. if they take a swallow, a small amount of liqueur mixes with the apple wine for a wonderfully unique drink!
Ok, even though we were in Darmstadt for three months we were still tourists doing the tourist thing. Getting Lanternchen at the Hobbit definitely falls into this category - even though many of our German friends also drank them. The Lanternchen consist of hard cider, lemon soda and a champagne glass of cherry liquor gently placed in the middle. When you take a sip, a small amount of the liquor mixes with the cider for a wonderfully unique drink!
I liked the bar a lot. I haven't been here to eat but I plan since I will spend some time in Darmstadt. In comparison with night clubs I prefer such bars. It is more relaxing and comfortable.. Stuff was very nice and prices are quite low. After I spent some time in France I would say the place is quite cheap and authentic.
You wouldn't expect that in a pub they could serve such good pizza, but, oh well, that's the fact. The pizzas bear the names of characters from Lord of the Ring and that's a bit funny. The staff is very friendly too. Reserva una mesa ahora
Pizzas are really cheap, and it's easy to understand why, as they are tasting like cardboard. Frozen pizzas bought in the supermarket are better. Don't go there if you want to eat something nice !
