From start to finish we had excellent service at the Hobby Horse. Gary greeted is and showed us to our table. We then looked at the menu and my husband joined the queue to order food and drink. Gary, seeing that we had nothing on our table yet asked if we were OK. Had we ordered food that hadn't arrived. I explained not and that we were awaiting my husband's return. Two of us had lime and soda. My favourite drink and it is often served very weak but the point I got was very limey and really nice. Me and my friend had been at work all day we decided on a catch up as it’s been a while since we had seen 1 of them. We work for the NHS Prison Service so we are able to get blue light discount when trying to use this at the till for our food this was not working. The lady who was serving us was not sure why any of our codes was not working, so she’s asked another member of staff “Sammy” she said there has been a huge problem with a certain code and that it only works at some other pubs but this isn’t one of them. “Danny was really nice and said don’t worry about it I’ll sort all your food and given us the discount what she really didn’t need to do but she was lovely and friendly” We girls w...
We were one of the first people to be served on Friday lunch 12 o’clock we arrived earlier had a drink and noticed that the Yorkshire puddings were on the hot plate at 11.20am. Wished I’d of gone with my instinct and not had the carving. It was stone cold at 12 the meat was cold cauliflower cheese cold potatoes cold gravy lukewarm. So I thought I’d mention to the waitress didn’t see one not one person came over cleared our plates asked if we were ok nothing , pots crockery was everywhere totally overwhelmed by the 20 or so people who turned up. Went today thinking it would be a nice family meal out with my daughter and parents. My parents both ordered chicken strips and chips and only one meal came out which was luke warm no sauce or relish as stated on the menu. Questioned where the other meal was after trying to hunt a staff member down. We then got told we will bring it out. 40 minutes had passed so went up and asked again to be told oh ok it’ll come soon.. no apology by the person in charge of food.. we had been there 1 hour and 35 by this point and everyone else had eaten.. to then just bring chicken strips out on there own with no chips. Visited here quite a few times but this time the service was by far the best by Clare who was very attentive and had a great sense a humour (I think it was anyway lol) After a horrible reception at The Willow we decided to stick to what we know and went hobby horse. It my Nana’s birthday and Clare made she we were looked after and had everything we need my Nana really enjoyed the afternoon there so thank you Clare the vibes and atmosphere was so lovely and welcoming with the buzz of people and music playing. All four of us enjoyed our food and even the desserts we had that we took away.
Thank you all so much for today. We had a wonderful time celebrating my dad's birthday. Special thanks to the chap who sang happy birthday as he delivered the cake. We were a huge amount of people and our food was all delicious and served without delay. Polite friendly and cheerful service through out. Well done and many thanks to you all. Also when I phoned to book very polite helpful and reassuring.
Just had 2 take out meals. Both meals had ingredients missing and were stone cold. Description was 2 chicken breasts in each meal but were more like the size of 2 thighs, handful of chips and the pot of salad was just lettuce and onion. Not worth the money,
What an amazing time we had, the staff were helpful and friendly, we had the carvery,again faultless. Beautiful food so tasty we will definitely be back and my daughter brought a big bit of cake to eat at home Thank you all again.

Waited for 45 min had to ask where our order was. When it finally arrived it was tasty but lukewarm. In fact chips, egg and peas were actually cold. Mushy peas would have been great as mortar.
Sim the waitress was amazing was very polite and we are not locals so she was very helpful and informative in directing us to the shopping centers
