I grew up on the Jersey Shore and have been coming to Hoffmann’s with my family every year. It has always been one of my favorite places for ice cream. Now that I am vegan and living at the Jersey Shore, I was thrilled to hear that Hoffmann’s had vegan options available. While I still prefer Ben and Jerry’s, the vegan ice cream at Hoffmann’s was decent. I tried the hard scoop, but did not see any soft serve or Dole whip options. I was really looking forward to trying the milk-free dole whip options at this restaurant after spending a day at the beach. I take my food choices seriously for various reasons. Unfortunately, my first order of dole whip contained non-dairy Reese's mixed with the strawberry topping, which was disappointing. I didn't eat it and asked for a new one, but the second order also had Reese's in it. When we asked for a refund, the waiter questioned us and treated us poorly, offering no apology. Overall, Hopman was a big disappointment. I suggest that anyone on a specific diet or anyone who values integrity in food service should avoid this restaurant. The ice cream parlor was decent, but I have visited better ones. When we visited on Labor Day 2023, there was a long line. One issue we encountered was that by the time you got to the counter with all the different flavors, you may have already placed your order without seeing all the options. It would be helpful if they had an electronic display showcasing all the flavors with pictures and descriptions, so customers could make a decision before reaching the counter, ultimately speeding up the line. The service was good, the ice cream quality was decent, and the prices were reasonable.

Hoffman's is my go-to ice cream spot at the beach. They offer large scoops at a great price. They have a wide variety of flavors, all made in-house and tasting fresh and delicious. The vegan options at this restaurant are fantastic! They offer three delicious flavors of vegan ice cream that are the best I've ever had. The taste and texture are almost identical to traditional ice cream.
