We've really cut back on our trips to the local diner. Listen, this is a standard diner and really there is nothing horrible to say. But its just become blander I think. First and foremost, I think the breakfast has become really bland, the potatoes used to be tasty and now they just taste like plain potatoes, which is kinda....bland. We've done lunch a few times and again, bland. We thought it was a few bad visits or just meh, but no, it sadly has gone a little down hill. For the price, it just isn't worth it. This is the diner you want. They are as skilled at making pot roast as they are Italian specialties. Everything is house made. The ingredients are fresh and top notch. I bring my mom here and she loves it. Order a dinner special and you get soup, salad, entree and dessert. All at a reasonable price. I eat the soup salad and bread and pick at my entree. Seriously don't come here. I got food poisoning about a year ago from here. The strawberry pancakes. Had to go to the hospital because I was deathly ill. My fiancé always loved this diner but I decided to give it another shot last night and eat there with him. I said to myself I wouldn't eat there again. This time he then gets sick. He had the Delancey Street sandwich. Is now really ill and throwing up I'm taking care of him. I don't understand how this place is still in business getting people sick like this. The food is bad or there's bacteria growing. There's something going on and it's not right.
I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant before meeting up with a friend. The staff were friendly and easy to converse with. The restaurant had a cool and inviting atmosphere both inside and out. It was nice to see that the staff were familiar with some of the regular customers. The food I ordered was delicious, although I was too full to try any of the desserts. I definitely plan to come back for lunch and to sample the desserts next time. My friend enjoyed the panini and highly recommended it. The salmon was flavorful and I also enjoyed the caesar wrap.

My Wife and I used to come here regularly, good food, nice size portions and reasonably priced. Owners were very nice and the wait staff was great. We just recieved a delivery from Uber Eats which the delivery itself was excellent, but the food and portions were not what they used to be! We certainly paid enough! If the rating was based just on service and the accoutrements, I would give it a 5. However, I went in for a bagel and lox, and was disappointed by the quality of the bagel itself. It was dry, stale, day-old supermarket quality, and I expected more. Sourcing from Costco or a good local baker would be a big upgrade from wherever they're getting their bagels.
I have always found this restaurant to be a dependable option. Unlike other places where there may be a grumpy old man at the register, the staff here is friendly and welcoming. The waitstaff is also very accommodating and will fulfill any request. I had not visited in years and was pleased to see the updated decor. I will definitely be returning again.

Never been to this diner before (just don't live close but needed a quick bite). Excellent service and food! Fair prices and great experience. Will definitely go back if near Holbrook again!
