This place was recommended to us by a local lady, so we decided to give it a try. Admittedly it was clearly a very busy evening for them, but we queued for 25 minutes hoping to eat in only to be told that we 'd have to wait another HOUR for gluten free food to be prepared. It doesn 't take much effort to put up a temporary notice saying an hour 's wait for gluten free this evening so that people don 't waste their time. We ended up going to Eric 's, which was equally busy but the staff made room for us and we had our meal within half an hour. (For what it 's worth, I really don 't like leaving negative reviews, but I 'm leaving this one in the hope that it will spur the owners to give a bit...
great fish and chips, the fish was so big that you could call it a whale. a large fish and chips were enough to split between two people. boiled to perfection, scattered and blase without excess oil on the paper when we came home, chips were crunchy and fluffy on the outside in the middle. large service, was asked if we want salt and vinegar, but I prefer to raise my own when I come home.
If you're visiting Holt and looking for some where to eat you must try Holt's Fish Bar. Ultraclean dine in area with friendly service and fabulous food. Went for a Senior Special Half Cod, Half chips, choice of mushy peas, beans, gravy or curry sauce which also included a hot or cold drink at just £8. Will definitely come again best tasting Fish and Chips in North Norfolk!!
