I was excited to find a place offering Hong Kong-style cafe food, expecting quick service and a good breakfast. However, it felt more like a traditional restaurant since everything took over 35 minutes to arrive — apparently the usual at this spot. I ordered Breakfast Combo A, which includes spam or ham with egg noodles and a hot drink, and Breakfast Combo B, featuring a ham and egg sandwich, lean beef and thousand-year-old egg congee, plus a hot drink. All of this should have taken about 10 minutes to prepare if I had made it myself. I realized I made a mistake coming here when the customer ahead of me waited more than 25 minutes for a French toast order, not counting the time she waited b...

This place is decent during off-peak times, like early mornings or weekdays, but they completely fall apart during busy hours. One weekend around 10 a.m., we called in an order and were told it would be ready in 30 minutes. When we arrived, the staff kept asking for an order number we never received. We confirmed with the person on the phone that we didn’t need one and were told they’d remember the order. After waiting another 10 minutes, the food finally came, but the noodle soup arrived without any broth. When I asked for the soup, the staff just poured it directly into the noodles, even though we had specifically requested it to be served separately (which costs an extra dollar). Instead...

Took them 30 minutes just to make a bacon sandwich and they blamed me for writing the order down which was their job. I was the first to order before the lunch rush came in at 11:50. With my egg sandwich I ordered fried mini buns which I even pointed to onthe menu and they put in fried wontons. I even tipped 20% before because you pay in advance which I regret given the horribleservice. When I thought they were trying to rectify my order, they still expected me to pay for the correct order. There arebetter, quicker places around Queens to get Hong Kong styled cafeteria food and just as affordable and taste the same or better.Don’t waste your time at this slow mediocre place lacking in custom...

Really enjoy this quaint Hong Kong style eatery in Elmhurst for their quick service and flavorful dishes. Clean establishment if you wish to dine in and everything is reasonably priced. I strongly recommend their Taiwanese popcorn chicken. Reserva una mesa ahora

The food was great…until I found a piece of metal in my beef brisket noodle with wonton, which ended up cutting my tongue. I'm not sure what it was, but it definitely doesn’t belong in a dish meant for eating.

I recently discovered Hong Kong Taste Cafe and have already returned three times. I've tried the wonton noodles, dumplings, and popcorn chicken—all of which were delicious.

Straightforward, generous portions at great prices. The congee really helped me get through the last bit of a cold I had. It's the ultimate comfort food!
