We’ve been dining here for 15+ years, which says it all really! We have very fond memories of before it expanded, we always aim to get one of our old tables. Our favorites: Garlic Edamame, Seared Tuna Nigiri, Toro Nigiri, a few other nigiri, Honey Roll, Redline Roll (but we ask them to omit the cream cheese , DESSERT: TEMPURA ICE CREAM!!! Yesterday was my first time at this restaurant and I had a great dining experience. We tried four different sushi rolls, which were very enjoyable and the portion size was perfect for the two of us. I specifically asked for a spicy specialty roll called Super Mario, but unfortunately, the lime flavor was too overpowering for my taste. The rest of the sushi rolls were delicious. I also ordered a 3-item combo with salmon teriyaki, Chicken Katsu, and Tempura, which was the perfect portion size. The restaurant was busy on a Friday night, so I recommend avoiding table number 1 as it is too close to the entrance door and the noise can be distracting. We recently moved to Oceanside just before the pandemic and spent time trying out various sushi restaurants in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with five of them and only found one that was just okay. However, our luck turned around when we discovered Hooked on Sushi. We have been loyal customers for the past three years and visit twice a week for their lunch special. The albacore at Hooked on Sushi is the freshest and most tender I have ever tasted. They offer a variety of awesome rolls, including the Carlsbad Lagoon roll, Marilyn MON Roll, and Dark Knight. The service at Hooked on Sushi is excellent when dining in.

I was brought to this restaurant by a friend for takeout when I used to work in Oceanside. I decided to dine in for old times' sake, but I was not impressed. The prices were reasonable, but the sushi lacked flavor. Additionally, paper towels should be provided in the restrooms. The service, food, and atmosphere all received a rating of 3 out of 5. The rolls here are always fantastic, but today we decided to try some of their appetizers. Got the Panko Mushroom and the Jalapeño Poppers. As well as their Bean Curd (inari) Nigiri Egg Curd (tamago) Nigiri. It was all excellent, very high quality and traveled well. Would definitely get again!

Sushi was great and the Bob Marley roll was excellent. My DoorDash driver had to wait for a very long time to receive and deliver my order, hence the 3 Star.
