I went inside the restaurant hoping to speak with someone about the situation, as I wanted either my food or a refund. Instead, I was told that I couldn’t enter. Finally, a manager came to talk to me. To my surprise, I recognized her voice as the same person who had taken my order. She claimed they couldn’t find it but was able to issue a refund.
I don’t understand why I was treated so poorly. It felt like my presence upset them, and as a woman, I felt that some employees may have had an issue with me. I went straight to the bar upon entering and ordered some food. I also requested to have the game I wanted to watch on the TV in front of me. I enjoyed my meal and had a few drinks. It was definitely a great time at Hooters in downtown St. Louis, just 2 blocks from the Arch.
The restaurant offered a laid-back atmosphere. The waitress checked on us just once and wasn’t very attentive. Unfortunately, the water from the soda fountain tasted off, probably because it was unfiltered tap water, so I opted to order bottled water instead.
