georg ruis is an incredibly experienced and well-reister cook who liked to create! Some of his goals were usa, london, bermuda, New Zealand, Thailand, malaysia and hong kong and gave him a great culinary horizon. during his time in asia he discovered the principle of 4-S. to see salt, acid (acid in German,) sweet and saturation always in the same weight, characterizes also his type to cook and he uses this principle in European cuisine. the restaurant is beautifully decorated with handmade sculptures and the hop topic is integrated in some of the designs, the personal is also very friendly and friendly and also very well known about the wine and ingredients of prepared foods. on this evening...

we had a very pleasant dinner in hopfenau. the service was excellent, always pleasant, attentive, but not too much “top”. we were delivered with fresh brot, marinated olive (very lubricated) and self-made spreads as welcome gift. the menu was very well explained. kitchen. is a mix. traditional Swiss dishes and int. influences; e.g. from Spanish like “Secreto Iberico” which they currently offer. the menu is especially not over the board and so everything is freshly cooked. in relation to the net, the menu is hard on meat, and offered a fish and a vegeterian dish. it also changes from time to time, correspondingly seasonal taste and harvest. the open red from italy, frankly and spanish were ma...

We recently had diner at the Hopfenau. Simply the best. George is such an excellent cook. The tartar is the best in Zürich by far which my partner had. I had cornfed chicken in a cornflakes crumbs with risotto excellent. The other guest had the...fish which was also very good. The menu changes a lot only the tartar stays. A complement also has to go to Caspar the front of house chef and his team they are so friendly and accommodating. The wine list is also very good especially the Heida from Biber, Valais. restaurant with a relaxed and unpretentious atmosphere. spacious outside area for warmer days. very hospitable hosts who know what they recommend from their short but excellent weinlist. also a chef who never surprises with his tasty creations. her bark tar is the best in town. oh and do not forget her signature drink espresso martini
