I came here for lunch, was my 1st time in this restaurant. They restaurant was pretty empty even though it was 12h, lunch time. Maybe because it was monday. 1st impression was beautiful. The decoration was elegant and cozy, a fine dining atmosphere. There was only an Italian looking server in the restaurant, he seems like the manager. He was very kind in greeting me and walked me to the table. I ordered a bean soup served with croutons together with a Scallop Risotto. The soup tasted good. The Risotto was perfect for me. I recently moved with my wife to Zug. We had some friends visiting us from Australia. Right when we entered the place one kind waiter received us and had us seated. So far so good. Then we hear the manager complaining to his waiter in a totally rude way because he had us seated in a "booked" table (all in front of us). Tell me how you treat your employees and that should say a lot about the place. I'm sorry for the waiter, his instinct was to deliver a good service, something the manager of the place for sure doesn't understand or apply. Never going to step this place again.
I was in Zug on business and a friend of mine, a local, invited me to dinner here. Fantastic place!Huge bay windows in the upstairs dining room overlook Lake Zug and the mountains beyond. The dining room is elegant without being stuffy, and the food-- we had steaks in an herbed butter sauce-- was really superb.Service was top-notch, and I was particularly impressed by the owner, who welcomed us graciously and with obvious pride in his restaurant and cuisine. When the burger arrived I thought this looks a little compact and not as tall as most Gourmet Burger joints normally offer. However it was one of the few gourmet burgers you can actually pick up and it was delicious and in the end a...perfect serving. I would def go back simply for the burger. Obviously the views over the lake are a great plus. I also enjoyed the selection of beers on offer. A great relaxed place which is different to other places in Zug.
As Italian as in Italy. Extensive menu of fish, meat and pasta. All the dishes were very well prepared with very fresh ingredients. All the wine regions of Italy are represented on the wine list. Service is attentive. The room is nicely decorated and the lake view is not to be missed.
