I threw my wife a surprise 40th birthday party and cannot say enough about how awesome everything was. I would give 6 stars if possible. Food was outrageous, staff was amazing, courteous and attentive! The drinks were excellent. They were made properly and weren’t lacking in the liquor. They say, you get what you pay for and that might be the best part. I looked at over a dozen venues who seemed to think I was throwing a wedding with their prices per person. Horace and Sylvia’s was it only extremely affordable, I can’t imagine getting better service for the price. If your looking for a venue for a party or just a small gathering, let me save you time. We both went to our birthdays and anniversary. The food was acceptable, but there was no ambience at all. The bartender and a girl we think spoke loud there. We were at a table in her area and couldn't hear our own conversation. Our waitress was sweet, but not well trained. The music was better suited for a bar than a restaurant. The food was decent. The Scallops Risotto of my husband was good. I chose the steak crostini appetizer as my dinner. The steak was perfect, but they overwhelmed it with too much butter Pesto. I scratched it and ate the steak. The squash soup was okay. Presentation was good. We spent $110 in total. Anyway, it didn't feel worth it.
I just went here and the waitress was slow and constantly on the phone. The food was terrible the wings where burned, and the blue cheese was warm because it was left in the window all the time and it was water, my burger I took a bite of the burger and everything I tasted was coal. I was glad they took it out of the account, but I would not recommend this place to anyone who took it seriously in recent years.
I can’t say enough wonderful things about Horace Sylvia’s! We had our son’s baptism and first birthday celebrations there and had the most incredible experience both times.The food and the service are both phenomenal. The owner, Carl, was beyond attentive and gracious. Truly the best! So grateful for all the attention and love we were given at both events!
Came here for dinner before a show at the Argyle Theater. LA Famigilia, right next to Theater not only wouldn't take a reservation for 4, but the owner/manager was very rude and condescending.I've come to Horace and Sylvia many times, nothing but great service and food
