We spent just one night in Montrose after visiting the Black Canyon and, as vegans/vegetarians, our dining options were somewhat limited. We chose HorseFly Brewing, where we knew we could get Impossible Burgers and hoped to find some good beer. While the beer selection wasn’t extensive, they kindly allowed us to sample a few, but unfortunately, we didn't find any we liked enough to order. Regardless, we had a lovely experience overall. The food met our expectations, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was really pleasant with some very cool restrooms! We were grateful to have this option during our trip and would definitely return.
Just an ok brew pub. Only like 5 beers to choose from, mostly unoriginal. Burgers, sandwiches or salads is what you get for dinner. The reuben was dry and the pulled pork was salty. The fries were ok, but when the waitress left a nearly empty bottle of ketchup with our food I asked for some more since there were 5 of us with fries, she came back with another nearly empty bottle. Service was kinda slow for how not busy they were, and the food took awhile to come out. Ultimately, I am glad I went here only to be able to check it off the list so I don't ever have to come back.
I highly recommend this restaurant! The food is fantastic, the service is outstanding, and the atmosphere is really nice. We stopped by for lunch on a Sunday morning before our flight, and we loved the cheese curds—the brisket sandwich was also amazing. I noticed some reviews mentioning long wait times for food, but they have a sign on the door stating that it can take 45 minutes or more during busy times. Thankfully, we didn't encounter this issue since we arrived right when they opened.
If you dont like this place, your not human! Top 10 burgers with the 50/50 burger! Carin, our server is excellent! Good service, always attentive. Being tourists we were treated with super good hospitality. The 50/50 burger, add pretzel bun, and the flatlander chicken were both excellent. Too many choices for beer so I got a sampler. You must visit here!

This place is so cool!! Per my husband the IPA was great, I tried both their made in house root beer and orange cream and both were delicious!! The food was equally good and the staff super nice!! (Went there twice in our 5 day stay in Montrose! If you are passing though or staying a while the Horsefly is a must try for sure!!
I always stop in at the horsefly bar and restaurant In Montrose while I'm traveling They always have good food and music and always seem to meet a lot of great people As I did today These women are playing golf in town The BCB charity classic. The Pueblo West Grand Junction ladies 2 man teams or I should say 2 women Teams
We had a great experience at Horsefly! We had six groups and sat right away. Everyone liked his food and the outdoor seating area was really covered and welcoming. Loved her root beer on **** and my husband LOVED her turn on a reub. Large selection menu with unique items.
I have to give them 3 stars because it took forever to get our food. I even had to ask and was told they were busy. So I went to the bathroom and notice a ton of empty tables. Food and beer are great, just don’t expect fast service.

We live 15 miles from the Colorado-Utah border and 85 miles from Housefly Brewing Company, but every mile traveled is absolutely worth it to visit this place.
Great selection of wings and beers. Can be crowded, but glad we waited. Cool swing seats at the outside bar.
