This is the restaurant of a hotel in which many of the locals seem to eat. It is located behind the town's Catholic church about two blocks from the ocean. They have a second restaurant under the same name, facing the ocean, which I read in their website that it is run by their two sons. We visited this town because my 3x great grandfather was born baptized here in the early 1800s as well as other ancestors generations before him. While on a visit to the Costa Brava area in northeastern Catalonia, Spain, I had the opportunity to return for lunch at Hostal El Roser (also known as Roser 1, since a Roser 2 has opened at another nearby location , a restaurant in the seaside village of L'Escala known especially for its seafood. I had dined there with my family and some friends about 7 years prior to this most recent experience. I was accompanied this time by a couple of friends who had never visited the area before. Este es un restaurante concurrido y se recomienda reservar con antelación. El menú del día era interesante y la comida era buena. El entrante de judías blancas estaba muy sabroso, mi amigo disfrutó del plato principal de conejo, mientras que yo probé un delicioso rape. Un episodio de helado para terminar fue delicioso. Los vinos eran muy buenos. Este es un restaurante catalán dirigido por una familia que principalmente atiende a catalanes.
Hemos ordenado el menú del día (snows) precio de excelente calidad, 15€. primer canelones riquísimos y segunda paella mezclado también muy bueno, bastante cargado de mariscos y carne. de postre de la crema catalana muy rica! los camareros muy amables y atentos. ¡Excelente, volveremos! Mi esposa probó la lenguado, estaba buena, le gustó mucho. Yo pedí carne de res, estaba bien, no perfecta. La salsa de champiñones no era la mejor, debería haber sido más cremosa. La forma española de freír las papas en aceite no es la mejor manera. Los entrantes estaban buenos.
