Hostellerie Normande

We live in Normandy and have dined here several times over the years (including before the revamp). This time is probably our last. Starters were fine but the main courses were all below average. Our son was visiting and, as did I, had filet steak....It arrived on an unheated plate and the steak was dry, overdone (asked for Medium) and barely warm. A baked potato was so overdone it was really a leather ball with a small amount of edible potato. Only other accompaniment was one forlorn wedge of tomato. The pepper sauce was thin. Husband had the baked camembert. Again it was over-done and dry (sticking to the wooden box and not gooey at all. Service was average to poor. The senior waitress gav...

this restaurant has been used for its simple molds, boards. We were invited to this evening and we took dishes/dessert at 24.90. I was extremely disappointed: apartment that had nothing to do in this price category there is competition with very good restaurants at this price! and not even good, the potato in the oven burnt so I'm not even sure to come back for dishes that match what is usually good in this restaurant

very good midday menu. appetizers and main courses were all good with good portions and delicious gratin dauphinois. a little disappointing with frozen chicken bugs. should have gone for the fish dish (in the child menu) that is fresh what we have seen in past. very pleasant service and friendly waiter. a visit to the hygienic toilet they don't always find anywhere.

We stayed for two weeks at Houlgate and enjoyed this restaurant most. The service is friendly, the food delicious and the prices very fair. A bit hidden, we were happy to find the restaurant by coincidence. Bon appétit

Agréable moment sous la véranda avec une bonne cuisine et des fruits de mer frais, parfois en rupture. Le service est attentionné.
