Hota The Exhibitionist

We were a party of four and on ordering, were advised it would be half an hour delay. We ordered 2 steak sandwiches, 1 fish and chips and one Beef Angus Burger. Drinks from the outside bar. We waited a good three quarters of an hour for the meals. Three came out over a period of 10 minutes but the 4th meal didn’t come. After a further 15 minutes, we approached the staff who denied there were any meals unserved and insisted all meals had been served and that the kitchen was now closed. The docket was at last found, screwed up in the bin and confirmed that yes, the Angus Burger had been ordered but not served. I recently visited Hota with my grandma, and we had a wonderful time. We were lucky to catch the Archie exhibition on its last days, and then we walked around the amphitheater and the main building. However, the highlight of our visit was the café. It had a cozy atmosphere and the food was delicious. Despite being busy, the manager went out of their way to ensure my grandma, who has difficulty hearing, was well taken care of with kindness and patience. The staff were all very nice to her, and the food arrived promptly and was excellent. This experience has made me want to make Hota and its café a weekly outing. We visited the restaurant on the last Saturday of the school holidays and it was packed with people! We weren't sure if we would be able to eat, but to our surprise, the team made a great effort to accommodate everyone in such busy conditions. I have worked in hospitality before, so I know that maintaining a positive attitude, smiling, and serving delicious food in a short amount of time is not easy. Congratulations to the owner and managers for finding such a dedicated team. We will definitely be returning soon. Kudos to Hota Cafe for their hard work!

Ummmm...no TABLE service, scan a bar code to come to counter. Then get your own water, amazing we didn't have to get our own food. Grilled calamari was ok but just a handful of green leaves, battered fish was very overcooked and oily. Came to go to Art Gallery lunch was a big disappointment, as we're the staff. Such gorg staff, wonderful spot fab to catch up with friends after a stroll. Thanks team for always looking out to serve with a smile, you are amazing. I had excellent coffee and delicious cake at this restaurant. I highly recommend it for a dine-in experience, especially for brunch. The price per person is usually A$1-20. The food, service, and atmosphere all receive a rating of 5 out of 5.
