Hier sind wir leider eingekehrt. Wir orientierten uns an der am Eingangsbereich ausgehängten Speise-/Getränkekarte , befanden sie für und ok und gingen dort auf die Trasse. Wir bestellten, wie vorher auf der Karte gelesen und mussten dann beim bezahlen feststellen, dass die Preise am Aushang mit denen auf der ausluegenden Karte ordentlich differierte. Den Kellner höflich darauf angesprochen, wurde dieser pampig und tat dies mit den Worten ab, es wäre ja preislich kein grosser Unterschied. Er war auch nicht bereit, sich am Aushang zu orientieren. SO WERDEN GÄSTE INS LOKAL GELOCKT, DANN PREISLICH ÜBERVORTEILT UND DANN DESWEGEN NOCH UNHÖFLICH BEHANDELT. NIE WIEDER.
Not that Ruedesheim is a very big city, quite the opposite. But we found this to be a good location to sit down and have a glass while deciding on where to go and what to do next. Nice terrace for warm days. The waiter was a real comedian speaking to us in a bunch of different languages but he was surprisingly efficient and drinks arrived very fast. Did not try the food but to sit down a short while the place does what you need and expect with nothin more or less.
Our second visit here and I have come to the opinion that you either like it or you don’t. The staff are welcoming and helpful but we have an issue with the rooms. They are very dated but very clean. There is no air conditioning, no fridge, no English tv and for us very uncomfortable beds. Drinks at the bar are expensive. Breakfast was typical continental but well presented and plentiful. Make your own mind up!
We stayed at the hotel on 31.12.2018. We were very happy with our stay. For a 3-star house very family-run. We were particularly surprised at the good kitchen. In Rüdesheim not always so easy to find the right one at the time of the year. And we met an old kitchen master Michael Auerswald who led the kitchen at the Altekirch winery. we had pumpkin cream calf spine forest parfait. Great. We're coming back
