Hotel Fex - Reservar una mesa

Og you ever sent to hike in an undisturbed, beautiful, beautiful valley don’t miss the Fex Valley. No cars (except the staff’s) are allowed and it has it all, a river comming from the glaciers, luscious green hill sides, cows with bells and wonderful hikes! The Hotel Fex itself is an old wooden building and offers rooms with spectacular views. The meals are solid and tasty and compensates for both strenuous and easy hikes. The staff is friendly and offers excellent suggestions for hikes and tours. We enjoyed it all !

The lifts were closed due to the wind, so we decided to leave the hotel from the village. The valley is nice, I had made a reservation for two. When we arrived on time, they gave our reserved table to another couple. No matter, we had a delicious meal sharing ravioli and a sausage / potato dish. Don't eat extraordinary, but decent.

We called in to the restaurant for a drink and a snack in the middle of a snowy walk up the Fex valley. The restaurant was warm and quaintly decorated. Service was friendly and we each had an excellent slice of nut tart. Excellent clean toilet facilities too an important consideration on a long walk! Recommended.

But the boss sent us away because a child had his drinking bottle out. He said you can't sit here and not consume from the restaurant. But I told him we'd wait and order 8 people... He was very unfriendly and he doesn't seem to care about our business.

One of the few places in the Engadin where the food and service were not up to the Swiss standard. As they have cornered the market in this place, it seems complacency may have got the better of them.
