Hotel Goldener Engl - Augustinerkeller

This was recommended by our hotel and we were not disappointed. They had an English menu for us and it was clear there were lots of choices although the beer itself was the star. I had the veal schnitzel with parsley potatoes and a cranberry sauce. It was truly amazing. My wife being quite veggie had a dumpling and grilled vegetables which were really tasty. It finish we split a Viennese strudel. The service was excellent and knowledgeable as our waiter spoke English and offered impeccable service. We are contemplating going for second visit as it was so good

TripAdvisor said good, hotel said good so we tried. Staff was friendly and we had a table outside. Traffic passing by but that did not bother us. We travel for business and eating out is supposed to be a pleasure. We look for local places and food. We had two different types of schnitzel, the plates lacked refinement and taste. Local wine was without interest and local beer was so-so. For us not again here.

Evening 2 of 12 in Austria and so glad we chose to eat here in the Keller.. A warm welcome, and then the waitress was amazing providing English menus for us and really helpful with tips on what to order.. The food was fab too.. For me personally it was way too much food but others would love the huge portions of excellent food!. We're staying near here so will definitely be back

staff are amazing, nothing is too much trouble, food excellent, this is a good place for lunch or dinner, meals are large and tasty, book a table at weekends as it gets very busy, has a really good atmosphere ,we've never been dissapoointed with any aspect.

There is a wide range of local favourites on offer. Staff are very friendly and observant. I have never had a disappointing meal there
