Like many other reviewers we were looking for a place to have lunch after visiting Père Lachaise. The menu placard outside looked interesting and reasonable so we walked in and got a table for two. The restaurant looked pretty busy which was encouraging. The decor is nicely done with many objects to look at. Service was pleasant enough but very spotty. However, this was not the fault of the ONE server who was waiting on at least 10 tables, some of which had at least 5 people. The poor woman was the only person seating customers, taking orders, and running food. Speaking of food, we ordered a steak which came with fries and a salad, and an entree salad. The steak was basically fat and gristle...
Loved the couscous merguez. The portions are huge, presentation with a pot of hot broth and veggies is creative and individual, plus it works to keep your couscous hot! Service was quite friendly. It is very convenient to Pere Lachaise cemetery if you happen to be planning a visit in there, as we did, after lunch. The couscous seems to be their house specialty, so I suggest that most highly, other dishes were fine but not remarkable. It was a mix of tourist and locals. Overall, it was a nice find for this area, and it got us out of the tourist trap places nearby.
Speed here for a quick bite to eat and was pleasantly surprised. It looked a little touristy from the outside, but there was a nice atmosphere once inside. I ordered a veggie burger which came with chips and a side salad. The burger was excellent and the service was good. Reasonable beer was available and a bottle of tap water was delivered to the table without having to ask for it. A really nice meal served promptly.
Was very busy, but the staff were excellent and the food service was fast. Inside is quite an eclectic mix of decor which we found delightful. The menu options were good for our group as we haa a diabetic and vegetarian travellers with us. Easy options for both. We were here for lunch and would eat here again.
