We have driven past this Hotel probably thousands of times but had not been inside until today! A friend went on the weekend and raved about her meal, hence we decided to go there for lunch. I had a Thai beef salad with noodles and my husband had pot pie, bowl of salad and chips. The salads were extremely fresh and apparently the pie was very good too. Booked a table for 9 of us on a Saturday night. Service was good but waited about 15 minutes in the line to order. Menu has lots of things to choose from. We waited over an hour to get our food and two others on the table got their food about 20 minutes before us.. which was annoying I ordered the stick squid and nothing too exciting. The sauce was way over powering that I couldn't even finish my dish. My partner had the pork belly and said it was still very chewy. The same seemed the same sauce as mine but watered down? This place is ok as it has a play ground for kids ( you still have to keep watch) you have to book this area at times to get a spot.It looks great with the renovations done.$20 for a chicken burger is for me a tad on the pricey side. A glass of coke is $4.50We used to go here for mothers group but stopped due to meals taking over an hour and half to come out, Staff would be rude at us when we ask questions, so we stopping going.So be aware at times it can take along time for meals and some of the staff can be really rude but the food is nice and venu looks good, they do have a trivia night but we found questions are often old fashioned.there is parking but can often be parked out.
We booked for Mother's Day for three of us for lunch at 1pm and each Mother was given a flower on entry and a coupon for a free glass of champagne, we felt thoroughly spoilt. Despite the Hotel being totally booked out for Mother's Day the service and food were excellent, the staff were all bright and breezy and efficient. We ordered Moroccan Lamb Shanks, Shepherds Pie Beef Bourguinon and NZ Whiting Fillets and all three meals were beautifully presented and delicious. Prices range from $24-$27 for each of our main meals but the servings were large and served hot. We will certainly be returning to this Hotel again, it is spotlessly clean and well run.

I went here for dinner tonight with 12 other people. We were celebrating a family members birthday and we all had a great night out. The meals we ordered were delicious, fresh, cooked just right, presented very nicely and priced reasonably. The staff where friendly, quick and professional. I was very happy with everything and can highly recommend this hotel for a nice family meal.
Food is reasonable pub fair with a little flair but what you would expect of a pub on a train line and main road intersection. The kids playground next to the bistro is best avoided if you're older and less tolerant of little darlings. And there's noisy screens around the place. Typical pub.
Visiting family from country NSW seven of us enjoyed lovely food Friday night very busy the food took a bit long to come out but well worth the wait.
Beef burger is messy but worth it and comes with HPH's trademark "waffle" fries which multiply all the good features of regular fries.

Great hotel - great food and atmosphere - not a lot of parking available - friendly staff and very children friendly
This was a regular after work place . The drinks are not too expensive and their food is value for money
