Hotel Post - Reservar una mesa

We visited this restaurant on 18-5-12... there were 2 people in our party. After a beautiful day around the old town we decided we would eat there before returning to our base in Munich. We looked at a few restaurant menus in this area and...decided on Hotel Post. We sat inside.The waitress who was friendly initially made a mistake in our drinks order and brought 2 weissbiers instead of only 1 ...we did not make an issue of this and kept the two. Then a fillet steak med-well done was ordered by one of us and twice was returned to kitchen as arrived at table raw red!...side order was also wrong. After waiting so long my partner waws really frustrated and was not prepared to wait for another dish. The waitress then brought the bill and although fillet steak was not charged they said as a gesture they would not charge for my one glass of wine (approx 3-4 euro) even though I think it was my partner who had not eaten who was drinking the 2 weissbier who should have had the free drink. Needless to say we had to stop off in another restaurant on way home. A disppointing end to a beautiful day and distinct lack of management apologies . Would not return or recommend this restaurant.

We came here on a busy evening without reservation. The restaurant allowed us to sit at one of the tables rather than turn away. They quickly brought us menus and took our order, although it was clear that they had many other customers. Since we were guests in one of the Old Town hotels, we had a voucher for a free beer in this restaurant! The menu is filled with many options for all different appetites. The portion sizes were generous and the food delicious (especially the mixed grill with special sauce). We also liked the asparagus soup. The restaurant is located on the main square with magnificent views for people watching and looking at the beautiful architecture.

We ate carvings and pommes with Asmall salad, pudding with dumplings and zander fillet with salad. Prices were reasonable €15 per head including drinks. The food was good, basic Bavarian farewell, beautifully presented. We sat outside in the old town under umbrellas. The service was good and friendly. It was strange, when 4 groups of people there was a mixture of German and English speakers. Most have been to see the castle above, and do not come a way from the restaurant. It was a very good choice for lunch.

Dinner with business colleagues really pleasant traditional dishes served by cheerful and pleasant staff. The carving was delicious, but the smoked trout was even more beautiful! Could have a bigger wine list in my opinion, but a nice place to eat

A bit too large portion but nice food. NIce terrasse on the main square in front of the Rathaus.
