We ate at this restaurant twice in one week. Both times we had gone to the museum and the surrounding area. The first time we waited over one hour for our food. The place was full inside and there were a number of us outside. We saw several tables outside get up and leave. We gave this place a second chance and upon return, there were only a few tables occupied, so we expected the food and service to be more timely than the first. Wrong! It took 45 minutes this time. Someone approached the server to say that they had not even received a menu and was told that they will just have to wait. Both times, when the food came, it was good and nicely prepared.

Familiengeführt kommt man hier langsam im Alter des wohlverdienten Ruhestandes an, dennoch ist dieses Restaurant ordentlich geführt mit Engagement und freundlichem Service. Die typisch deutschen Gerichte, die um mich herum serviert wurden, sahen gut aus, präsentiert auf eine Art wie sie seit den Siebzigern existiert. Das Bier, frisch gezapft zur Perfektion. Beliebt bei den Radlern aus der Umgebung am Wochenende. Liegt direkt an der Straße, neben dem Neandertal-Museum. Es gibt viele Parkmöglichkeiten in unmittelbarer Nähe....
This was our second visit to Hotel Becher for lunch. It is next door to the fascinating Neandertal Museum and close to some pleasant walking areas. The welcome and service can't be faulted, the food excellent - beautifully presented and very good quality. This is one of those places where you feel "at home" and want to linger after a good meal for just one more drink! We will certainly be back very soon for another relaxing, tasty lunch.

The welcome and service cannot be failed, the food excellently presented and very good quality. This is one of those places where you feel at home and want to stay for a drink after a good meal! We will be back very soon for another relaxing, delicious lunch.
Vanuit het neandertaler museum wilden we nog even een goede lunch hebben. Toen besloten we hier bij Hotel Becher te gaan eten. Er gezellig en typisch Duits ingericht voor de streek. Erg vriendelijke bediening die samen ook genoten van de gezelligheid die de gasten met zich meebrachten. Het eten was ook erg lekker en we hebben dan ook genoten! Zeker een aanrader om even lekker te eten of te borrelen ;)
Уютный ресторанчик рядом с Неандертальским музеем с достаточно классическим немецким меню - шницеля, колбаски и прочие вариации со свининой. Подача красивая, солидная. Я был в сезон лисичек - предлагалось много блюд с ними, очень вкусно. Главный минус - меню только на немецком и официанты не владеют другими языками.
This restaurant is family owned and the service is very good. Typical German food of excellent quality and a fresh draft beer with it. The place is located right next to the Neanderthal museum. I will return.
