Hôtel Restaurant Eychenne

We ate here whilst we were staying in the hotel Eychenne (this is the hotel restaurant). We chose to eat here as we'd been on the road all day and it was raining heavily so we couldn't be bothered traipsing around town to find somewhere....We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food; the first course was a small portion of boudin noir with apples, wrapped in soft filo pastry. It was very tasty (nice salty home-made boudin noir complemented by sweet apple). For the next course I had sautéed foie gras with poached pear the liver was very good quality and was nicely offset by the not-too-sweet pear, lightly dusted with cinnamon. one of those places they pay for the escaping instead of eating on their teller. about affected by the kitchen nouvelle idea that eating should be admired and photographed, instead of eating, children's size should be portioned, no matter, their age. an overpriced wine list and inexperienced training is added. it is not that eating is bad in itself, but it is not good to have bread to eat to feel full. the hotel itself is good with great comfortable, clean rooms and friendly staff. the recommendation is therefore to stay, but to eat.

Beautiful food and lovely restaurant. Very good selection of food and the little booklet translating french cuisine was very helpful as they don't have menu's in English and some of the fine dinning French expressions are quite difficult to translate

not a star table, but rather a very pleasant place. were outside from a hot evening we had a good « bar » and a verry good « ris de veau » chablis was ok and « profiteroles and soufflé au grand marnier » very good desert

We have got dinner and breakfast here. The food was very good and the breakfast even better. The price is perhaps a little high. But what is a plus in this place is the nice attention of the team.
