A restaurant off the beaten path, but only a few minutes from the congested downtown area (parking on site). The menu is German, but the creative presentations and quality are well above average. Case in point -the Zanderfliet is three thick fish filets on sauerkraut...with a potato cake atop of each with an excellent, mild sauce baked. It may sound like an odd combination, but every bite melts in your mouth. The so-called Schnitzel is composed of two thin cut pork slices rolled and stuffed with cheeses and herds, then coated with a thin batter and baked. Presented with a white sauce and thin egg noodles. Located in the hills above Kaiserslautern, Dansenberg is close to everyone. The parking lot is usually full with cars coming from all over for a great meal or a night stay in their hotel. The chef takes traditional German food and kicks it up a...notch with gourmet flair. The prices are a little higher than normal, but you get what you pay for, including a small salad bar rather than just a side salad. The salad bar includes a few different types of German salads; potato, carrot, cucumber, etc… They have a beer garden that is open on nice days, but it doesn’t serve the restaurant food, although it is acceptable beer garden food.
Wir waren letzten Donnerstag hier im Biergarten, 3 Personen, hatten 2 mal Fleischsalat mit Bratkartoffeln und 1 mal Bratwurst mit Sauerkraut, selbige war mit der dunklen Seite nach unten auf dem Teller, Geschmack ok,. Der Fleischsalat hat nach nichts geschmeckt uns ist ein einer weisen Flüssigkeit schwimmend auf dem Teller gekommen.Wir konnten Ei und Apfel erkennen aber nichts schmecken und leider sind dann auch die Bratkartoffeln in der Flüssigkeit "ABGESOFFEN". Schöner Biergarten, aber das Essen ist leider nicht gut. Der Weißherbst war auch sehr teuer, für 0,25 l 4,50 EURO.....für Biergarten mit Selbstbedienung.
beautiful relaxed restaurant in the hotel. open to no inhabitants. the menu has many choices, including veggie and vegan selection. not rushed, but beautiful and relaxed. Christmas party dinner during my visit and it was nice. the prices are reasonable and the quality of food is great. I would recommend to visit or live in the environment. menu is available in german with english translation below.

the free breakfast for hotel guests is beautiful and more than just the typical brote, cheese, deli meat; she wants to fix her a omlet, rührei / fried eggs, while her breakfast buffet is closed due to covid. but where she really excel is on her dinner! omg.! soouo good. we ate two different nights there and it would be hard to say what was better. both were amazing!
We are frequently found at the Frolich. The menu changes with the seasons so it doesn't get boring. They do so many things very well, but when it's goose season it is a must do. In the summer the terrace is marvelous and the beer...garden is a great place to have flammkuchen and beer with friends.
Cuisine is both traditional and unique; sauces are to die for; service friendly and prompt, but never rushed; roasted schweinebraten and veal cutlets are our favorites; don't plan to eat for about hours after!
beautiful small place with a decent terras for eating and beer. okey breakfast, no buffet due to corona. beautiful and friendly staff. on the minus pages; a little too expensive and out of the way.

We were looking for a convenient, nice hotel. We did not book in advance. Found this hotel and it was as expected. Nice rooms, perfect dinner, good breakfast and friendly staff! And cheap rates!
update review. our favorite German restaurant has now German / English menu. they also have a little rebuilt to update the restaurant.
