We had a tasty lunch there. My parents and my brother had a big and tasty bratwurst with onion sauce and a wonderful rösti (one of the best röstis i have ever tasted). My sister in law and myself had a nice choice of different salads.My nieces were also very happy: there is a good special card for kids which includes a free dessert. There is also a room with games on the upper fllor, and on the terrasse 4 gondolas where kids can play / listen to stories / or paint. Its a very child friendly restaurant.This is not a gourmet place, but if you want good and cheap food, go for it. Its also a place where you get very friendly service. The owner came to the door to thank us for the visit.
Kreuz proves a good choice for enjoying Swiss traditional food in a relaxed setting.During my visit I noticed many regulars - always a good sign!Thumbs-up for the efficient and genuinely warm service provided by Barbara.The tenant lady greeted each table and also upon leaving - a nice gesture.The food is unpretentious but tasty. After a mixed salad as starter, I chose the veal scallops in a creamy sauce - good and generous portion. As dessert I had the Coupe Nesselrode - a delicious combination of chestnut vermicelli and vanilla ice cream.Prices are reasonable for Swiss standards, my bill amounted to CHF80.
Es ist zur Gewohnheit geworden, dass wir jeweils im Herbst mit einem befreundeten Ehepaar im Restaurant Kreuz in Malters Wild essen gehen. Dieses mal war es unübertreffbar - sensationell gut. Drei Personen haben sich, wie immer, für den Rehrücken entschieden. Ich hingegen liess mich vom Menü überraschen (einfach Spitze!) Die Küche ist zudem sehr flexibel und geht auf Wünsche der Kundschaft ein, wenn diese z.B. kleinere Portionen wünschen. Wir fühlten uns so richtig wohl und kommen nächstes Jahr wieder.
It started from the service and ended by eating way too much!Restaurant Kreuz is outstanding, and highly recommended. They have a huge menu to choose from, and all we had so far was awesome. Be aware you have to make reservations, because more and more people know how good it is at Hotel Kreuz in Malters!
