I've eaten German food all over Germany, and this little family owned and operated restaurant back in the woods is up towards the top of my 'Best of' list! The service is always friendly and welcoming, and they can speak English if you need that help. The appetizers are fantastic, my favorite is the warm goat's cheese. They have lots of different schnitzel's to choose from (among many other types of dinner dishes. Steaks, pasta, etc.), but my staple is the Kase-Rahm schnitzel, a cheese covered meat that is covered in a brown, gravy sauce. My wife loves the Berner schnitzel, covered in cheese and hollandaise sauce. The beers are cold, the food is hot, and the atmosphere is that of a friend having you over for dinner at their secluded cabin in the woods. You can't go wrong!Tip: They have a beautiful, large, outdoor patio that is great for an evening when the weather is nice!

We drove to this place deep in the woods. Not really deep, just on the edge of the town and inside a block of trees, looks like your heading into the storybook forest. Once parked, plenty of parking in the woods, go enjoy the food. Based on my time in Germany this is average german fare and nothing that special, the prices were good and we enjoyed our evening together. Its worth a visit at least.Btw, the directions from kusel can be a bit tricky and you can sit outside and enjoy the woods and they have a playground for your crumb snatchers. You could host a nice group of friends here and never be interrupted by other folks if so desired.

Beautiful garden restaurant. A little hard to find, but eventually there are signs. I had the Jaegerschnitzel, which was a huge portion. I should have ordered the smaller potion. The sauce was ok, not great, but my husband order the Pfalzer Schnitzel with onions and he loved it. The Kroketten were good as was the salad.A lovely place to spend an evening outside in the summer. Also a nice play area for kids. Good service as well. We will definitely go back with visitors!

Went there on a Sunday with my family. This is a family run restaurant. Owners are very nice, I liked my grilled chicken dish. Salad was nice. I liked the location. Look forward to visiting during the summer so I can sit outside.
