Our food came out fairly quickly. The wok wonton soup was excellent—possibly the best we've had in the Portland area. My only observation was that the wonton wrappers came off the dumplings, which made it seem more like pork meatballs with bits of wrappers in the broth. Nonetheless, it was very delicious. The lemon chicken was okay, but there was significantly more batter than chicken. The moo shu pork was quite tasty, and the pancakes held up well with the filling, though the portion size was on the smaller side. I still adore this place! We ordered the fried rice again, and I keep forgetting to specify "no chicken," as I prefer their pork, beef, and shrimp, which are all so much better than the drier chicken. We also tried the lo mein with shrimp. I enjoyed this dish, but compared to my friends' Kung Pao and General Tso's chicken, it was a bit lacking in flavor. I recommend adding sauces or, even better, mixing it with the Kung Pao or General Tso's. Honestly, the combination worked really well since both of those dishes are quite rich in flavor and calories. General Tso's, in particular, is deep-fried and sweet. It's delicious, but it's so rich that I could never eat it all on its own.

Today is my second day in a row here. The first day we had vegetable chicken with rice and it was good. Today’s barbecue pork is different in that it is spiced with possibly more .spices than we prefer. The egg flower soup with a corn flavor at lunch it’s fantastic. We had Buddhist vegetables and Vegetable chicken to compare. Two out of the three liked vegetable chicken the best. The cashew chicken is good but not extremely special. On a funny note, Every time we finished up late we took a little bit on how long it would take for the waiter or waitress to pick it up. They are very quick I’m cleaning off the table

We've been ordering takeout from this restaurant for over 10 years, and the food has always been fantastic. However, the last two times we've ordered have been very disappointing. The hot and sour soup, which used to be rich with flavorful broth, carrots, tofu, mushrooms, and pork, was mostly grease this time, with just a few pieces of carrots. We also tried the Buddhist vegetables and beef with broccoli. While the food was cooked perfectly, the sauce was lacking in flavor. Hunan Pearl has been a cherished part of our lives for 25 years. It was my father's favorite restaurant, and the waiting staff, especially Tony, along with the owners, Jason and Michael, always treated him with such kindness and respect. The food is not only delicious and fresh, but also beautifully presented. An added bonus is that they accommodate my gluten-free dietary needs for everything on the menu! This restaurant warms not just my stomach, but my heart as well.

This is the best Chinese restaurant I've dined at in years. The food is fresh and absolutely delicious. The waitstaff is incredibly attentive, providing excellent service. The restaurant has a touch of elegance, which is increasingly rare these days.

As far as Chinese restaurants go, Hunan Pearl is one of the best! Their food is fresh and their service impeccable. It is definately worth visiting. It a restaurant that makes you feel special some how. 5 stars for sure!

The food is always good! The food is usually always good. But this past Mother's Day we placed an order to go. The cashew nut chicken was missing something so it didn't taste good. We were a little disappointed.

Great Chinese food! I usually go to her honey ribs, but tonight it was sold. We ordered a few dishes tonight. And it was very good! No linker! We also love the service!
